Abstract

Pendidikan karakter dalam kurikulum K13 merupakan ruh dalam penyelenggaraan pendidikan di Indonesia yang bertujuan untuk membangun dan membekali peserta didik dalam menghadapi dinamika perubahan di masa depan. Salah satu dari pendidikan karakter adalah sikap toleransi. Sebagai bangsa yang beragam, sikap toleransi merupakan hal yang sangat penting yang perlu menjadi karakter suatu bangsa. Media merupakan sarana untuk menyampaikan suatu pesan. Harapannya dengan media yang tepat dapat menumbuhkan sikap toleransi siswa sebagai penerus bangsa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh media pembelajaran Meme Komik terhadap sikap toleransi siswa pada pembelajaran IPS di SMP Negeri 5 Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain “non-equivalent control group” dengan pola “sebelum” dan “sesudah” serta dilakukan treatment pada kelas VIII-I sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kepada VIII-F sebagai kelas kontrol. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik sampel peluang (probability samples) dan pengumpulan data sikap toleransi siswa dengan menggunakan angket tertutup. Setelah data terkumpul, kemudian dilakukan analisis kuantitatif melalui uji hipotesis menggunakan teknik Uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dari sikap toleransi siswa kelas eksperimen yang diberikan treatment menggunakan media pembelajaran Meme Komik dengan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan media konvensional. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh dari penggunaan media pembelajaran Meme Komik terhadap sikap toleransi siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS.

Character education in K13 Curriculum is a spirit on implementation of education in Indonesia that intend to building and supplying student in order to face dynamics of change in the future. One of the character education is tolerance attitude. As a diverse nation, tolerance is the most important thing that need to be character of our nation. Media is the facilities to send the message. Hopefully, with the right media that we choose, we could increase the tolerance attitude to the next generation. This research aims to examine the effect of Meme Comic on student tolerance attitude in social studies at 5 Bandung Junior High School. This research used quasi experimental method with design non-equivalent control group with pattern “before” and “after” and as well as conducted treatment at class VIII-I as an experiment class and class VIII-F as control class. Sampling technique in this research using probability sample with data collection of student tolerance attitude is by using closed questionnaire. After the data were collected, then conducted a quantitative analysis through hypotheses test with t-test technique. The result obtained from experiment class between treated class showing that there is a difference between before and after treatment. Meanwhile in control class there’s no difference between before and after treatment. So, it can be concluded there is the effectiveness of Meme Comic as learning media that effect the student tolerance attitude in social studies subject.
