    Abstract

    The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of peer tutoring method on learning achivment at 6 Muhammadiyah Bandung Junior High School. This research used quasi experimentaly method with Nonequivalent (Pretest-Posttest) Control Group Design which using the treatment twice. The sample that’s been used is purposive sampling technique or sample with some consideration which is how low the study average and the same student total. The experiment class is VII=B dan the control class is VII-C with 25 student per class. The data collection is done using objective test with multiple choice question with total 31 question. After the data is collected, the processed by SPSS 20 application. The result is gain from experiment class that there are changes of learning achievment before and after using treatment peer tutoring. The same thing happen with control class, there are some changes using conventional method even the changes are not really big. At the experiment class the changes are bigger than the control class. So, it means that peer tutoring methode is more effective for improving social studeis learning achievment of 6 Muhammadiyah Bandung junior high school class VII-B;---Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji dan melihat efektivitas dari metode peer tutoring terhadap hasil belajar IPS peserta didik di SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Bandung. Metode yang digunakan adalah Kuasi Eksperimen dengan desain Nonequivalent (Pretest-Posttest) Control Group Design yang treatment nya dilakukan sebanyak dua kali. Sampel yang digunakan adalah dengan teknik purposive sampling atau sampel dengan pertimbangan tertentu yaitu rendahnya rata-rata hasil belajar dan jumlah peserta didik yang sama, kelas eksperimen pada kelas VII-B sedangkan kelas kontrol pada kelas VII-C dengan jumlah 25 peserta didik masing-masing kelasnya. Pengumpulan datanya dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen tes objektif berbentuk PG dengan jumlah 31 butir soal. Setelah data terkumpul kemudian diolah menggunakan uji hipotesis atau Uji T menggunakan aplikasi SPSS 20. Diperoleh hasil analisis pada kelas eksperimen terdapat perubahan hasil belajar antara sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan treatment peer tutoring. Hal yang sama terjadi di kelas kontrol, dengan menggunakan metode konvensional terdapat perubahan hasil belajar walaupun tidak besar. Tetapi pada kelas eksperimen perubahan hasil belajar jauh lebih besar dibanding kelas kontrol, sehingga dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa metode peer tutoring efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar IPS di kelas VII-B SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Bandung.
