Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menilai motif pemilihan buku mahasiswa dalam pelaksanaan bibliobattle challenge yang dilihat dari tiga indikator yaitu motif intrinsik, motif ekstrinsik, serta motivasi membaca pasca pelaksanaan bibliobattle challenge. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 39 responden yaitu mahasiswa Perpustakaan dan Sains Informasi angkatan 2017 dengan melalui teknik pengumpulan data yang berupa angket. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motif pemilihan buku mahasiswa berada dalam kategori baik. Secara khusus hasil penelitian menunjukan indikator motif intrinsik berada dalam kategori baik, indikator motif ekstrinsik berada dalam kategori baik, indikator motivasi membaca buku pasca pelaksanaan bibliobattle challenge berada dalam kategori baik. Dari ketiga sub indikator yang ada, motif intrinsik memiliki persentase nilai tertinggi. Sehingga, dapat disimpulkan bahwa motif pemilihan buku mahasiswa dalam pelaksanaan bibliobattle challenge termasuk kedalam kategori baik, serta pemilihan buku tersebut didominasi oleh motif intrinsik mahasiswa. This study aims to determine and assess student book selection motives in the implementation of bibliobattle challenges seen from three indicators namely intrinsic motives, extrinsic motives, and reading motivation after the bibliobattle challenges. The research approach uses a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. This research was conducted on 39 respondents, namely the 2017 class of Information and Library Science students through questionnaire data collection techniques. The results of the study indicate that the motives for selecting student books are in the good category. Specifically the results of the study showed that the indicators of intrinsic motives were in the good category, indicators of extrinsic motives were in the good category, indicators of motivation to read books after the implementation of the bibliobattle challenge were in the good category. Of the three sub-indicators, intrinsic motives have the highest percentage. So, it can be concluded that the motives of student book selection in the good category, and the selection of books is dominated by students' intrinsic motives.
