Abstract
Membaca merupakan salah satu keterampilan berbahasa yang paling sulit untuk dikuasai oleh pembelajar bahasa (Mc Laughlin dalam Hadyan, 2013). Kesulitan tersebut disebabkan oleh salah satu faktor, yaitu kurangnya pengetahuan dasar tentang pokok bahasan teks (Mulyadi, Sunendar, Rakhmat & Setiadi, 2014). Oleh karena itu, metode pembelajaran yang tepat mutlak diperlukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengkaji keterampilan membaca pemahaman teks bahasa Perancis mahasiswa semester 4 Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Perancis FPBS UPI Tahun Akademik 2017/2018 sebelum dan sesudah diterapkan metode Cornell Note Taking; (2) mengukur tingkat ketercapaian hasil belajar mahasiswa setelah diterapkan metode pembelajaran Cornell Note Taking; dan (3) memperoleh informasi mengenai tanggapan mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan metode tersebut dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman teks bahasa Perancis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain pra-eksperimental, one group pretest-posttest. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes dan angket. Hasil data tersebut akan diolah menggunakan perhitungan statistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan nilai kemampuan membaca pemahaman setelah penggunaan metode Cornell Note Taking. Hal ini dilihat dari nilai rata-rata prates sebesar 69,1 dan nilai rata-rata pascates sebesar 81,7. Selanjutnya, diperoleh nilai t-hitung sebesar 5,779 dan nilai t-tabel sebesar 2,457 dengan derajat kebebasan sebesar 30 dan taraf signifikansi sebesar 0,01, sehingga t-hitung>t-tabel. Artinya, hipotesis kerja dalam penelitian ini diterima.;---Reading is one of the most difficult language skills should master at school (Mc Laughlin in Hadyan, 2013). This difficulty is caused by one factor, which is lack of basic knowledge about the subject matter of the text (Mulyadi, Sunendar, Rakhmat & Setiadi, 2014). Then a method appropriate learning is absolutely necessary. This research has propose to (1) examine French text comprehension reading skills of 4th semester students of French Language Education Department FPBS UPI Academic Year 2017/2018 before and after the use Cornell Note Taking method; (2) to measure the level of achievement of student learning outcomes after applying the learning method of Cornell Note Taking; and (3) to obtain information about students responses to the use of these methods in French text comprehension. We use quantitative method with pre-experimental design, one group pretest-posttest. The instruments used were tests and questionnaires. The results will be calculated by statistical calculations. The results showed an increase in the value of reading comprehension ability after the use of the Cornell Note Taking method. This is seen from the average pre-test value of 69.1 and the average post-test value of 81.7. Furthermore, obtained t-count value of 5.779 and t-table value of 2.457 with a degree of freedom of 30 and a significance level of 0.01, so that t-count> t-table. That is, the working hypothesis in this study is accepted.
