Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menurunkan kuantitas miskonsepsi yang dialami siswa pada materi pemanasan global dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran perubahan konseptual (conceptual change model) dengan strategi reading infusion. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah metode campuran (mix method) dengan bentuk desain sequential explanatory. Partisipan penelitian merupakan 59 siswa kelas XI MIPA salah satu SMA di Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir-Riau yang terdiri atas 33 siswa kelas eksperimen dan 26 siswa kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes diagnostik (four tier test). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi penurunan kuantitas miskonsepsi yang dialami siswa sebesar 0,6 dengan kategori sedang. Uji ukuran dampak menunjukkan bahwa strategi reading infusion memiliki dampak besar terhadap model pembelajaran perubahan konseptual (conceptual change model) dalam menurunkan kuantitas miskonsepsi siswa. Berdasarkan temuan disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran perubahan konseptual (conceptual change model) dengan strategi reading infusion dapat menurunkan kuantitas miskonsepsi siswa pada materi pemanasan global.----------This study aims to reduce the quantity of misconceptions experienced by students on global warming material by applying a conceptual change learning model to the reading infusion strategy. The research method used is a mix method with the form of the sequential explanatory. The research participants were 59 students of class XI MIPA one of the high schools in Indragiri Hilir-Riau Regency consisting of 33 experimental class students and 26 control class students. The research instrument used was a diagnostic test (four tier test). The results showed that there was a decrease in the quantity of misconceptions experienced by students by 0.6 in the medium category. The impact measurement test shows that the reading infusion strategy has a large impact on the conceptual change learning model in reducing the quantity of students' misconceptions. Based on the above findings it can be concluded that the conceptual change learning model with the reading infusion strategy can reduce the quantity of students' misconceptions on global warming material.
