Abstract

ABSTRAK Keterampilan berbicara dan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa SDN 06 Susukan masih rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterampilan berbicara dan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa setelah menggunakan model inkuiri pada tahap discovery learning, yakni siswa diberi kesempatan untuk mengembangkan konsep berdasarkan pengalaman secara langsung dan mengenal istilah-istilah ilmiah yang berkaitan dengan konsep yang dipelajari. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Subjek penelitian ini berjumlah 37 siswa, 20 siswa kelas eksperimen dan 17 siswa kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes pemahaman dan tes unjuk kerja yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Selain itu, peneliti juga menggunakan instrumen non-tes seperti lembar observasi, dokumentasi, catatan lapangan, dan tes unjuk kerja. Uji perbedaan peningkatan membaca pemahaman kedua kelas diolah menggunakan program SPSS versi 16. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model inkuiri mempengaruhi keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas eksperimen dengan skor rata-rata tes unjuk kerja yang signifikan. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan bahwa N-Gain kelompok eksperimen berbeda secara signifikan dibanding N-Gain kelompok kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa model inkuiri tahap discovery learning memberikan pengaruh yang lebih signifikan terhadap keterampilan berbicara dan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa. This study aims to determine the students' speaking skills and reading comprehension skills after using the inquiry at the discovery learning stage, where students are given the opportunity to develop concepts based on hands-on experience and get to know scientific terms related to the concepts being studied. This research is a quasi-experimental study with the Nonequivalent Control Group Design research design. The subjects of this study were 37 students, 20 experimental class students and 17 control class students. The instrument used was an understanding test and a performance test given before and after treatment. In addition, researchers also use non-test instruments such as observation sheets, documentation, field notes, and performance tests. The difference test of reading comprehension improvement between the two classes was processed using SPSS version 16. The results showed that the inquiry discovery learning stage affected the speaking skills of experimental class students with an average score of performance tests. Statistical test results showed that the N-Gain experimental group differed significantly compared to the N-Gain control group. The results showed that the Levels of Inqury model of discovery learning had a better influence on students' reading comprehension ability.
