Abstract

This event will be based on research by the low level of problem-solving ability of students in problem-based reserved story. This research aims to improve the ability of problem solving math grade V which is still low. One approach to learning that can be used in improving the capability of the problem-solving approach that is Realistic Mathematic Education (RME). The research model used in this study i.e. Research action class (PTK). The design used in this research is the design of the class action Research Design adapted from models of Hopkins. Data collection instruments used are problem-solving ability test and also the application of observation sheet approach Realistic Mathematic Education (RME). Processing and the analysis of quantitative data using an indicator of problem solving as for qualitative data using Models, Miles and Huberman. The results of this study showed that the application of Realistic approach of Mathematic Education (RME) can enhance the ability of solving problem of grade V it is evidenced by an increase in the average value of the results of the evaluation of students in cycle I, 67.5, as well as the average value of the cycle II 88.
