    Abstract

    Tujuan peneltian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh gender terhadap kemampuan aktual pada materi koloid. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian adalah metode pra eksperimen dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Intsrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa butir soal, angket, dan pedoman wawancara. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 62 siswa yang mengikuti pretest dan posttest serta membaca secara tuntas materi koloid di rumah, terdiri dari 22 siswa laki-laki dan 40 siswa perempuan. Data yang diperoleh diolah menggunakan SPSS Versi 23. Hasil penelitian dan uji statistik data pretest menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan pengetahuan awal dan kemampuan aktual yang signifikan antara laki-laki dan perempuan, akan tetapi hasil uji statistik terhadap nilai gain ternormalisasi menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yaang signifikan antara kemampuan aktual siswa laki-laki (N-gain= 0,592) dan siswa perempuan (N-gain= 0,658). Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa siswa perempuan memiliki peningkatan kemampuan aktual yang lebih baik dari pada siswa laki-laki.;--The purpose of this research is to determine how the effect of gender to student actual ability of colloid chapter. The method used in this research is the pre-experimental method with the design of one group pretest-posttest. The instrument used in this research is question items, questionnaires, and interview guidelines. The research subjects consisted of 62 students who took the pretest and posttest and read the complete colloid chapter at home, consisting of 22 male students and 40 female students. The data were processed using SPSS Version 23. The results of the research and the statistical test of the pretest data showed that initial knowledge and actual abilities were significant between men and women, but the results of statistical tests on the normalized gain values of the actual abilities of male students (N-gain = 0.592) and female students (N-gain = 0.658). This shows that female students have the ability to improve better than male students.
