Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi temuan dari hasil observasi yang dilakukan peneliti di kelas VII-8 SMP Negeri 1 Bandung, peneliti menemukan masalah rendahnya rasa percaya diri pada siswa. Hal tersebut terlihat saat kegiatan pembelajaran banyak siswa yang merasa malu, enggan mengemukakan pendapatnya, gugup saat berbicara di depan kelas, ragu dalam bertanya atau berpendapat. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengetahui peningkatan rasa percaya diri siswa melalui penggunaan project based learning digital storytelling IGTV pada pembelajaran IPS. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu desain model Kemmis and Taggart dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas VII-8 SMP Negeri 1 Bandung yang berjumlah 33 orang. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan desain Kemmis and Taggart dilaksanakan tiga siklus, dalam satu siklus terdiri dari tiga tindakan, dengan tahapan 1) perencanaan (plan), 2) pelaksanaan (act), 3) observasi (observation), dan 4) refleksi (reflection). Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini melalui lembar observasi, catatan lapangan, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang sudah dilakukan dapat diketahui bahwa perencanaan pembelajaran penelitian ini sudah dilakukan dengan baik, pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan berbasis proyek digital storytelling IGTV untuk meningkatkan rasa percaya diri dapat dikatakan berhasil. Adapun peningkatan rasa percaya diri siswa dapat dilihat dari peningkatan indikator rasa percaya diri yang meningkat pada setiap siklus, diantaranya siswa mampu tenang menghadapi tantangan, dapat mengatur kontak mata, mempunyai inisiatif, bertanya, mengkomunikasikan, bertanggungjawab, dan menghargai pendapat. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa penggunaan project based learning digital storytelling IGTV dapat meningkatkan rasa percaya diri siswa kelas VII-8 SMP Negeri 1 Bandung pada pembelajaran IPS.;--This research is conducted based on the observation result in eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Bandung, the researcher found out that the students were lack of self-confidence. It can be seen in the teaching and learning process, most of the students were shy, difficult to share their opinions, feeling nervous while speaking in front of the class, and hesitant in asking the questions or giving opinions. This research aimed to investigate students’ self-confidence improvement through the use of project based learning digital storytelling IGTV in learning social studies. The research method used in this study was Kemmis and Taggart model. The subject of the research was thirty three eighth grade students in SMP Negeri 1 Bandung. Classrooom Action Research with Kemmis and Taggart design was conducted in three cycles, in which, there are three actions in one cycle. The stages are 1) plan, 2) act, 3) observation, and 4) reflection. The data collection techniques employed in this study were observation sheet, field notes, interview, and document analysis. Based on the findings, it was revealed that the lesson planning of this study had been well-implemented. In addition, the implementation of project based digital storytelling IGTV in learning process could successfully increase the students’ self-confidence. Moreover, the students’ self-confidence improvement could be identified in the indicator of self-confidence that was increasing in each cycle. For instance, the students were able to keep calm in facing the challenging situation, they could maintain the eye contact, they were able to take the initiative, they were able to ask questions and communicate, they became responsible, and they were able to respect opinions. It can be concluded that the use of project based learning digital storytelling IGTV could enhance eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Bandung self-confidence in learning social studies.
