Abstract

Penelitian ini berawal dari keprihatinan peneliti melihat perilaku peserta didik di SDIT Nurul Ishlah Banda Aceh yang gemar membeli jajan di kantin dan di warung sekitar sekolah menggunakan kantong plastik. Pemilihan pemanfaatan reungkan penting diketahui oleh peserta didik untuk menjaga kebersihan lingkungan. Penggunaan reungkan tidak hanya dapat mengurangi pemakaian plastik akan tetapi juga dapat menjadi wadah yang aman untuk makanan juga ramah lingkungan. Maka permasalahan ini perlu diatasi dengan mengasah kecerdasan ecoliteracy dalam pemanfaatan reungkan yang dilakukan pada pembelajaran IPS melalui model project based learning. Penelitian ini adalah sebuah penelitian tindakan kelas (classroom action research). Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan reungkan khas daerah Aceh sebagai media pembelajaran IPS, ini merupakan bentuk antisipasi dan perbaikan masalah kebersihan lingkungan peserta didik. Kompetensi ecoliteracy dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Center For Ecoliteracy. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan dalam tiga siklus, diperoleh peningkatan ecoliteracy peserta didik baik pada aspek pengetahuan (head/cognitive), sikap (heart/emotional), keterampilan (hands/active), dan spirit (connectional). Data menunjukkan kompetensi ecoliteracy peserta didik pada keempat aspek terjadi peningkatan yang signifikan pada siklus kedua dan siklus ketiga. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatkan reungkan dengan pembelajaran kontekstual melalui model project based learning mampu meningkatkan ecoliteracy peserta didik.;This research begins with the researcher concern to see the behavior of students in Nurul Ishlah Banda Aceh Elementary School who like to buy snacks in canteen and stalls around the school using plastic bags. The selection of the use of reungkan is important to be known by students to maintain environmental hygiene. The use of reungkan not only can reduce the use of plastic but also can be a safe container for food as well as environmentally friendly. Therefore, this problem needs to be overcome by ecoliteracy intelligence in the use of reungkan, carried out through social studies learning with a project based learning model. The method used in this research is classroom action research. In this research, the researcher used reungkan from Aceh as social science learning media; this is a form of anticipation and improvement of students environmental hygiene problems. Ecoliteracy competence in this research uses the Center for Ecoliteracy. Based on the results of classroom action research conducted in three cycles, obtained the increase in ecoliteracy of students in the aspects of knowledge (head/cognitive), attitude (heart/emotional), skills (hands/active), and spirit (connectional), Data shows the ecoliteracy competency of students in all four aspects have significant increases in the second cycle and third cycle. The results showed that the use of contextual learning through the project based learning model was able to increase the ecoliteracy of students.
