Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh siswa kelas IX dalam menyelesaikan soal bangun ruang sisi datar pada sub topik luas permukaan dan volume prisma serta limas dan faktor penyebabnya. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Data yang diperoleh dari penelitian berupa hasil pekerjaan siswa dan wawancara. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Negeri 44 Bandung. Subjek penelitian ini berjumlah 36 siswa kelas IX. Hasil penelitian berupa jawaban siswa yang dianalisis berdasarkan panduan kriteria Watson yaitu data tidak tepat atau inappropriate data (id), prosedur tidak tepat atau inappropriate procedure (ip), data hilang atau omitted data (od), kesimpulan hilang atau omitted conclusion (oc), konflik level respon atau response level conflict (rlc), manipulasi tidak langsung atau undirected manipulation (um), masalah hirarki keterampilan atau skill hierarchy problem (shp), dan selain ketujuh kesalahan di atas above other (ao). Adapun faktor penyebab dari kesalahan yang terjadi diantaranya kurangnya pemahaman konsep siswa, kurang teliti dalam perhitungan, siswa belum menguasai materi pelajaran, ragu terhadap jawabannya sendiri, lupa rumus yang harus digunakan dalam menyelesaikan soal, tidak membaca soal dengan teliti, kemampuan siswa dalam pembelajaran kurang sehingga sulit bagi siswa untuk memahami materi, belum dapat mengaitkan materi matematika satu dengan yang lainnya, dan belum paham akan materi tentang penjumlahan aljabar.;--This study aims to describe the errors made by grade IX students in solving the problem of three-dimensional geometry on the sub-topic of surface area and volume of prism and pyramid and its contributing factors. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. Data obtained from the research in the form of student work and interviews. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 44 Bandung. The subjects of this study are 36 students from grade IX. The results of the research in the form of student answers were analyzed based on Watson's criteria guidelines that are inappropriate data (id), improper procedure (ip), omitted data (od), omitted conclusion (oc), response level conflict (rlc), undirected manipulation (um), skill hierarchy problem (shp), and above other (ao). The causes of errors that occur include lack understanding of concepts, not thorough in calculations, students have not mastered the subject, doubting the answer itself, forgetting the formula that must be used in solving the problem, , not reading the question carefully, the ability of students in learning less so that it is difficult for students to understand the material, not yet able to associate the material Mathematics with each other, and do not understand the material about algebraic addition.
