Abstract

ABSTRAK PENERAPAN MODEL MISSOURI MATHEMATICS PROJECT UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS SISWA KELAS V SEKOLAH DASAR Sopah Nurussobah 1506586 Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika. Untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa, peneliti menerapkan model Missouri Mathematics Project. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk (1) Mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model Missouri Mathematics Project. (2) Mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dengan menerapkan model Missouri Mathematics Project. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang mengadaptasi model Kemmis dan Mc. Tagggart. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan sebanyak dua siklus. Subjek penelitian ini berjumlah 26 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar observasi dan lembar evaluasi. Berdasarkan hasil observasi dari setiap siklus, menunjukkan bahwa proses pembelajaran matematika dengan menerapkan model Missouri Mathematics Project mengalami perubahan yang positif dari siklus I ke siklus II. Hasil analisis terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa didapatkan data nilai rata-rata pada siklus I sebesar 71 dan meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 84. Sedangkan persentase ketuntasan belajar kelas untuk siklus I sebesar 69% dan meningkat pada siklus II yaitu 92%. Berdasarkan pada hasil tersebut, pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model Missouri Mathematics Project dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa sekolah dasar. Kata kunci: Missouri Mathematics Project, kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis   ABSTRACT THE IMPLEMENTATION OF MISSOURI MATHEMATICS PROJECT MODEL TO IMPROVE MATHEMATICAL PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY OF FIFTH GRADE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS Sopah Nurussobah 1506586 The background of this research is based on the low ability of mathematical problem solving. For increasing the ability of student’s mathematical problem solving, the researcher implement Missouri Mathematics Project model. The purposes of this research are: (1) Describe the teaching learning process by using Missouri Mathematics Project model. (2) Describe the increasing ability of mathematical problem solving using Missouri Mathematics Project model. The used method of this research is class action research (PTK), which adopt Kemmis and Mc. Taggart model. There are two cycles in this research and there are 26 students as a subject. The used instrument in this research are observation form and evaluation. Based on the result of observation of each cycle, shows the mathematic teaching and learning process by using MMP get the positif change from cycle 1 to cycle 2. The analyzing result of the ability of mathematical problem solving shows that there is average score in the cycle 1 about 71 and increase in cycle 2 about 84. While the percentage of teaching class completeness for cycle 1 is 69% and 92% for cycle 2. Based on that result, teaching and learning by the implementation of Missouri Mathematics Project model can improve/increase the ability of student’s mathematical problem solving.
