Abstract

Hardiness merupakan karakteristik peserta didik yang mampu berorientasi positif dan mengkonfrontasi pengalaman yang penuh tekanan sehingga peserta didik dapat bertahan dan berkembang. Keberadaan teman sebaya di lingkungan boarding school memiliki peran penting sebagai dukungan sosial dalam membentuk karakteristik hardiness pada diri peserta didik. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui kontribusi dukungan sosial teman sebaya terhadap hardiness peserta didik Kelas XI MA Manarul Huda Boarding School Tasikmalaya Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik simple random sampling kepada 61 peserta didik. Instrumen yang digunakan berbentuk kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) pada umumnya peserta didik Kelas XI MA Manarul Huda Boarding School Tasikmalaya memiliki dukungan sosial teman sebaya dengan kategori sedang; (2) secara umum hardiness peserta didik Kelas XI MA Manarul Huda Boarding School Tasikmalaya berada pada kategori tinggi; (3) dukungan sosial teman sebaya memberikan kontribusi yang positif terhadap hardiness peserta didik. Temuan penelitian memberikan masukan bagi guru BK untuk mengembangkan dan mengimplementasikan rancangan program bimbingan dan konseling yang telah dibuat. Rekomendasi bagi peneliti selanjutnya dapat meneliti faktor-faktor lain yang memengaruhi hardiness. Kata kunci : Dukungan Sosial Teman Sebaya, Hardiness Hardiness is a charachteristic of students who are able to be positively oriented and configure a stressful experience so that the students can survive and develop. The existence of peer in the boarding school environment has an important role as social support in shaping the characteristics of the hardiness of students. The pupose of study is to fnd out the contribution of peer social support to the hardiness of students in XI grade MA Manarul Huda Boarding School Tasikmalaya 2018/2019 academic years. Research used quantitative approaches and correlational methods. Sample collection was carried out with simple random sampling techniques for 61 students. The instrument that is used in the form of a questionnaire. The result of the study shows that: (1) XI grade MA Manarul Huda Boarding School Tasikmalaya students generally have peer social support in the medium category, (2) the hardiness of XI grade MA Manarul Huda Boarding School Tasikmalaya students generally in the high category, (3) peer social support contributed positively to the hardiness of students. The result of the research gives insights for guidance and counseling teacher to develop and implement the design of guidance and counseling programs that have been made. The recommendations for for the next researchersis to dothe research on other factors that influence the hardiness. Keywords : Peer Social Support, Hardiness
