Abstract
Kemampuan literasi awal merupakan permasalahan penting yang harus ditangani dengan serius, khsusunya pada siswa di jenjang kelas rendah sekolah dasar. Guru dapat melakukan deteksi dini terhadap permasalahan ini dengan melakukan pengukuran kemampuan membaca siswa menggunakan berbagai macam alat pengukuran kemampuan membaca, salah satunya adalah EGRA (Early Grade Reading Assesment). Berdasarkan hal ini, Peneliti menggunakan EGRA sebagai instrumen pengukuran dalam mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi awal siswa kelas dua SD/MI di Kabupaten Bogor tahun ajaran 2017-2018. Selain menggunakan alat ukur EGRA yang telah dimodifikasi, peneliti juga melakukan wawancara dan melakukan penyebaran angket untuk mendukung hasil penelitian. Temuan yang didapatkan peneliti, ditemukan bahwa 80%-90% siswa kelas dua di Kabupaten Bogor bisa membaca berdasarkan hasil tes yang dilakukan terhadap siswa yaitu tes membaca huruf, suku kata, kata tidak bermakna, kata bermakna, dan kata tidak bermakna. Selain itu, kualitas sumber daya pendukung kemampuan siswa seperti kualitas guru dan sarana serta prasarana yang menunjang cukup baik. Permasalahan yang dialami dalam proses pembelajaran literasi awal di kelas dua SD/MI di Kabupaten Bogor adalah tidak meratanya kemampuan membaca siswa diakibatkan kurangnya pengetahuan guru mengenai metode pengajaran dan pengukuran kemampuan membaca siswa, latar belakang guru yang tidak sesuai, dan faktor lain seperti faktor lingkungan, faktor intelegensi, dan faktor lain seperti anak berkebutuhan khusus. ;--Early literacy ability is an important issue which must be handled seriously, escpecially in lower grade of primary school. Teachers can be undertake this issue by detecting students reading ability with reading assesments like EGRA (Early Grade Reading Assesment). Based on reference, researcher used modified EGRA as measurement instrument in describing early literacy ability of second grade in Bogor regency term 2017-2018. Furthermore, researcher conducted interviews and questionares to support this research. Results were obtained by researchers found that 80% of students can read based on several tests, Letters name identification, syllables identification, Non-words reading, Familiar-words reading, and Reading comprehension. Thus, resources that support early literacy such as teachers qualities, schools facilities and infrastructure are passable. Encountred issues in early literacy learning process in second grade of primary schools at Bogor regency are inequitable of students reading ability due the lack of teachers knowledge in methods and measurements. Moreover, Innapropriate teachers education background, students environmental factors, intelligence factors and children with special needs are issues that occurred during the learning process.
