Abstract

Kenakalan remaja di Indonesia meningkat secara signifikan baik secara langsung atau melalui media sosial, seperti penyalahgunaan narkoba, pelanggaran kriminal, norma, dan hukum. Lembaga pendidikan bertanggung jawab untuk memecahkan masalah tersebut. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui model pembentukan karakter melalui seni pertunjukan yakni Parents Day. Metode fenomenologi digunakan untuk menggambarkan proses pembentukan karakter dan nilai karakter. Pengalaman nyata partisipan dalam pertunjukan seni dinarasikan. Data diperoleh dari 42 partisipan melalui wawancara, observasi, kuesioner, dan analisis dokumen. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Alfa Centauri Bandung selama empat bulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembentukan karakter dibangun melalui proyek sekolah berdasarkan proyek kelas. Melalui proyek tersebut, nilai-nilai karakter seperti bersih dan rapi, cinta damai dan kesadaran, tangguh, jujur, toleransi, ramah dan komunikatif, kreatif, inisiatif, disiplin, mandiri, bertanggung jawab, sopan, dan bermanfaat dipelihara dan dikembangkan. Proyek pertunjukan seni menjadi cara untuk mempersiapkan kompetensi generasi muda untuk menghadapi tantangan abad ke-21.;--- Juvenile delinquency in Indonesia increases significantly either directly or through social media, such as drug abuse, violation of criminal, norm, and law. Educational institution has responsibility to solve those problems. This article aims to figure out the character building model through performance art called Parents Day. Phenomenology method is used to describe process of character building and character values. Real experience of participants in the art performance is narrated. Data are collected from 42 participants through interview, observation, questionnaire, and document analysis. The research is held at Alfa Centauri High School Bandung for four months. Research finding showed that character building was constructed through school project based on class project. Through that project, character values such as clean and tidy, loving peace and awareness, tough, honesty, tolerance, friendly and communicative, creative, initiative, discipline, independent, responsible, polite, and beneficial were nurtured and evolved. Art performance project become a way to prepare young generation competence to envisage 21th century challenge.
