Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V di salah satu sekolah dasar di kota Bandung. Hal tersebut dikarenakan pembelajaran yang dilakukan masih berpusat pada guru dan siswa belum terlibat secara aktif dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan penerapan model kooperatif tipe CIRC untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V SDN X di kota Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan untuk penelitian ini adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model Kemmis & Mc.Taggart yang terdiri atas perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 26 siswa dan penelitian dilaksanakan dua siklus. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan lembar observasi model CIRC, soal evaluasi dan dokumentasi. Data kuantitatif diolah menggunakan statistik presentase. Sedangkan data kualitatif diolah melalui langkah reduksi data, display data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V SDN X di kota Bandung. Pada pra-penelitian nilai ratarata kelas adalah 52,5 dengan presentase ketuntasan sebesar 11%. Nilai rata-rata pada siklus I adalah 60 dengan presentase ketuntasan 58%. Adapun pada siklus II nilai rata-rata mengalami peningkatan menjadi 86,4 dengan presentase ketuntasan mencapai 88%. Berdasarkan data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model kooperatif tipe CIRC dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa.;--- This research is motivated by low reading comprehension skill on 5th grade student of public elementary school in Bandung. The low ability of reading comprehension because the learning is still centered on teacher and student does not actively in learning process. This research aims to describe the application of cooperative learning model circ type to improve reading comprehension ability of 5th grade elementary school students in Bandung. This study has been done by using Research Method of Class with Model of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart which are : planning, Implementation, observation and reflection. Research subjects amounted to 26 students and the research carried out two cycles. The Instrument used in this research are observation sheet of CIRC model, evaluation sheet and documentation. Quantitative data is processed using percentage statistics. While the qualitative data processed through data reduction steps, display data and verification.The result of research showed an enhancement in reading comprehension skills of fifth grade public school X in Bandung. In the pre-cycle the average score is 52,5 with the percentage of passing the test is 11%. The average score in first cycle was 60 with percentage of passing the test is 58%. In second cycle the score increased to 86,4 with the percentage of passing the test reaching 88%. Based on the data, it can be concluded that the application of CIRC cooperative model can increase students reading comprehension ability.
