    Abstract

    Materi pada sistem pernapasan manusia di sekolah menengah atas mengandung banyak konsep abstrak, sehingga memerlukan bantuan media dalam pembelajaran. Telah dilakukan penelitian menggunakan self-generated analogy dalam membantu siswa mengonkritkan konsep yang abstrak. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh penggunaan self-generated analogy terhadap peningkatan penguasaan konsep siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan di salah satu SMA Negeri di Kota Bandung dengan subjek penelitian berjumlah 33 siswa. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu quasi experiment dengan desain nonequivalent (pretest-posttest) control group. Instrumen yang digunakan terdiri dari instrumen test tertulis berupa soal PG, instrumen LKS, model analogi yang dibuat siswa dan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan skor post-test kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol, dimana kelas eksperimen lebih baik dari kelas kontrol. Selain itu dari hasil perhitungan N-gain diperoleh hasil rata-rata 0,56 yang masuk dalam kategori sedang. Dengan demikian self-generated analogy dapat digunakan sebagai upaya meningkatkan penguasaan konsep siswa.-- Subjects on human respiratory system in senior high school contains many abstract concepts, so media assistance in the teaching-learning process is needed. A research has been done using self-generated analogy to help students concreting the abstract concept. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of self-generated analogy uses to increase student’s concept mastery. The research was conducted on 33 students in one senior highschool in Bandung. The methodology that was used in this study is quasi-experiment with nonequivalent (pretest-posttest) control group design. The data was collected through written test instruments such as multiple choice test, exercise module, student’s model analogy and questionaire. The research results show significant differences in a score post-test class experiment to the class control, where class experiment outcome was better than the control class. In addition, the calculation of N-gain obtained the average around 0,56 in medium category. Thus self-generated analogy can be used as an effort to increase student’s concept mastery.
