Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil observasi di salah satu SD di kota Bandung, ditemukan bahwa kurang lebih 43%, yakni 15 dari 35 siswa belum dapat membaca dan kurang lebih 30% 10 dari 35 siswa masih menulis dengan kurang rapi dan belum sesuai dengan penulisan yang benar. Hal ini disebabkan karena kurangnya kegiatan literasi di sekolah dan banyak siswa yang belum dapat membedakan huruf. Metode Multisensori dengan pembelajaran yang melibatkan kemampuan sensori anak diantaranya kemampuan visual, auditori, kinestetik, dan taktil diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca dan menulis permulaan siswa kelas I. Tujuan penelitian ini dilaksanakan guna mendeskripsikan penerapan metode multisensori untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca dan menulis permulaan siswa kelas I SD dan mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan membaca dan menulis permulaan siswa kelas I SD. Penelitian menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas model Kemmis dan Taggart dengan dua siklus dan setiap siklusnya terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian berdasarkan tes membaca menunjukkan bahwa pada siklus I mencapai 60% dan meningkat sebanyak 27% di siklus II dengan ketercapaian 87%. Sedangkan kemampuan menulis berdasarkan lembar evaluasi siswa menunjukkan bahwa pada siklus I mencapai 83% dan meningkat sebanyak 10% pada siklus II dengan ketercapaian 93%. Dari hasil yang diperoleh dapat dikatakan bahwa penerapan metode multisensori dapat meningkatkan kemaampuan membaca dan menulis permulaan siswa kelas I SD.;--This research is motivated by observation result in one elementary school in Bandung, found that approximately 43%, that is 15 from 35 students have not been able to read and around 30% 10 from 35 student still write with less tidy and not according to correct writing. This is due to lack of literacy activities in schools and many students who have not been able to distinguish letters. Multisensory method is expected to improve the ability of early reading and writing for first grade. The purpose of this study was conducted to describe the application of multisensory methods to improve the ability of early reading and writing for first grade students and describes the improvement of the ability of early reading and writing for first grade. The research used the method of Classroom Action Research of Kemmis and Taggart model with two cycles and each cycle consist of planning, act and observation, and reflection. The results of the study based on reading test showed that in the first cycle reached 60% and increased by 27% in cycle II with 87% achievement. While the ability to write based on student evaluation sheet showed that in the first cycle reached 83% and increased by 10% in cycle II with 93% achievement. From the results obtained can be said that the application of multisensory methods can improve the ability of early reading and writing for first grade in elementary school.
