Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya motivasi belajar yang terjadi di kelas IIA. Hal ini dibuktikan dari hasil pengamatan peneliti terhadap siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui penggunaan media audio-visual untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Media audio-visual dalam penelitian ini berupa gambar, rekaman, video, slide yang dituangkan dalam microsoft powerpoint. Media audio-visual dipilih karena sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa sekolah dasar yaitu (1) senang bermain, (2) senang bergerak, (3) senang bekerja dalam kelompok, dan (4) senang merasakan atau melakukan atau memperagakan sesuatu secara langsung. Adapun langkah pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah langkah dari pendekatan saintifik. langkah-langkah tersebut yaitu mengamati, menanya, mengumpulkan informasi, mengasosiasikan/ mengolah informasi dan mengkomunikasikan. Peningkatan motivasi belajar diukur dengan menggunakan lembar observasi dengan aspek motivasi belajar meliputi : (1) adanya hasrat untuk berhasil, (2) adanya kebutuhan dalam belajar, (3) ulet dalam menghadapi kesulitan, (4) kerelaan meninggalkan kegiatan yang tidak berhubungan dengan belajar dan, (5) ketekunan dalam mengerjakan tugas. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan, motivasi belajar siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II mengalami peningkatan. Siklus I memperoleh persentase sebesar 73% dan siklus II sebesar 98%. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media audio-visual dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Kata kunci : motivasi belajar, media, audio-visual The background of this research is the low motivation to learn that occurs in class II A. The statement has gathered evidences and supporting data from observations conducted by researcher towards students. The purpose of this study is to find the use of interactive audio-visual media to improve student learning motivation. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The interactive audio-visual media in this study are in the form of images, recordings, videos, and slides as outlined in the Power Point application. Interactive audio-visual media was chosen because it fits the characteristics of elementary school students, namely (1) likes to play, (2) likes to move, (3) likes to work in groups, and (4) likes to feel or perform something directly. The learning steps used in this study are steps from the Scientific Learning Model. these steps are observing, asking, gathering information, associating / processing information and communicating. Increased learning motivation is measured using an observation sheet with aspects of learning motivation including: (1) the desire to succeed, (2) the need for learnin,; (3) resilience in the face of difficulties; (4) willingness to leave activities not related to learning, and (5) perseverance in doing assignments. Based on the research conducted, student learning motivation from cycle I to cycle II has increased. The first cycle obtained a percentage of 73% and the second cycle was 98%. Then, it can be concluded that the use of interactive audio-visual media can increase student learning motivation. Keywords: motivation, media, audio-visual
