    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan komunikasi matematis
    siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika. Untuk meningkatkan kemampuan
    komunikasi matematis siswa peneliti menerapkan Model Pembelajaran Think Talk
    Write. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk (1) mendeskripsikan perkembangan
    proses pembelajaran matematika dengan menerapkan Model Pembelajaran Think
    Talk Write, (2) mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis
    siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika dengan menerapkan Model Pembelajaran
    Think Talk Write. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian
    Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang mengadaptasi model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart.
    Penelitian ini dilaksanakan sebanyak dua siklus. Subjek penelitian ini berjumlah
    28 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah lembar observasi
    dan lembar evaluasi. Berdasarkan hasil observasi dari setiap siklus, menunjukan
    bahwa proses pembelajaran matematika dengan menerapkan Model Pembelajaran
    Think Talk Write mengalami perubahan yang positif dari siklus I ke siklus II.
    Hasil analisis terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa didapatkan data
    nilai rata-rata pada siklus I sebesar 75 dengan kriteria cukup, meningkat pada
    siklus II yaitu sebesar 93 dengan kriteria sangat tinggi. Sedangkan persentase
    ketuntasan belajar kelas untuk siklus I yaitu sebesar 46,4%, meningkat pada siklus
    II yaitu sebesar 96,4%. Berdasarkan pada hasil tersebut, penerapan Model
    Pembelajaran Think Talk Write khususnya pada pembelajaran matematika dapat
    meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa sekolah dasar.;--The research was conducted because of the fact that students’ mathematical
    communication skill is still low. The researcher used Think Talk Write learning
    model in order to improve students’ mathematical communication skill. The
    research aimed to (1) describe the process of mathematic learning through Think
    Talk Write learning model. (2) describe the improvement of students
    mathematical communication skill in maths through Thing Talk Write learning
    model. The method which was used is Classroom Action Research. It adapted
    Kemmis and Mc. Taggart model. The research was done in two cycles. The
    subjects of research were 28 students. The instrument which was used in this
    research was observation sheets and evaluation sheets. Based on the observation
    result from each cycles, it showed us that the mathematic learning process using
    Think Talk Write learning model had improvements from cycle I to cycle II.
    Students’ mathematical communication skill also had improved. Students score in
    cycle I was 75 which means “enough”. In cycle II it increased to 93 which means
    “very good”. Furthermore, the percentage of learning completeness in cycle in
    was 46,4%, increased in cycle II to 96,4%. Based on the result, the
    implementation of Think Talk Write learning model, mainly in mathematic
    learning, was able to improve mathematical communication skill of elementary
    school students.
