Abstract
Jadi, penerapan bahan ajar berbasisSocioscientific Issuesmeningkatkanpemahaman NOS (Nature of Science ) dan pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi tata surya.;--This reseach aims to obtain of increasing understanding of NOS (Nature of Science) and understanding of students' concepts on solar system materials. The learning process by applying teaching materials based on Socioscientific Issues. The research method used is pre experimental with one group pretest-postest design. This research was conducted in one of Junior High School in Bandung in class IX using random sampling technique, by choosing one class from eleven classes. Subjects involving 26 students. The research instrument is a questionnaire of NOS (Nature of Science) understanding and multiple choice test of 20 questions. The results of the analysis using the Das assessment guidance, et al (2008) found an increase in the understanding of students' NOS (Nature of Science), with the average of naive views to be infromed views, as well as analysis using the normalized gain showed increased understanding of student concepts by 0.46 with categories medium. Thus, the application of teaching materials based on Socioscientific Issues enhances the understanding of NOS (Nature of Science) and understanding students' concepts on solar system materials.
