Abstract

Model mental menunjukkan representasi internal seseorang yang mereka bentuk melalui interaksi dengan lingkungan mereka. Penelitian sebelumnya mengindikasikan bahwa terdapat hubungan linear model mental dengan profil pemahaman konseptual siswa. Model mental merupakan suatu hal yang dinamis yakni dapat berubah seiring proses kegiatan pembelajaran. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengubahan model mental siswa yang terjadi melalui kegiatan pembelajaran discovery learning berbantuan conceptual change text (CCT) pada materi suhu dan kalor . Desain penelitian ini menggunakan the embedded design dengan pretest-posttest control group design. Instrumen tes yang digunakan adalah tes diagnostik four-tier suhu dan kalor. Perubahan model mental yang terjadi didominasi oleh perubahan model mental ke arah yang lebih baik dengan persentase terbanyak pada scientific model sebesar 36,9% pada hasil posttest. The mental model shows the internal representation of someone they form through interaction with their environment. Previous research indicates that there is a linear relationship between mental models and profiles of students' conceptual understanding. Mental models are dynamic things that can change with the process of learning activities. The purpose of this study is to find out the changing mental models of students that occur through discovery learning activities assisted by conceptual change text (CCT) on temperature and heat material. The design of this study uses the embedded design with the pretest-posttest control group design. The test instrument used is a four-tier temperature and heat diagnostic test. Changes in mental models that occur are dominated by changes in mental models to a better direction with the highest percentage in the scientific model of 36.9% in the posttest results.
