Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul ” Penerapan Pendekatan Kontekstual dalam
Pembelajaran IPA untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Siswa”. Penelitian ini
bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dengan menerapkan pendekatan
kontekstual dalam pembelajaran IPA. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa
kelas IV yang berjumlah 30 siswa pada tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 di SDN 1
Sindangkempeng Kecamatan Greged Kabupaten Cirebon. Penelitian ini berawal
dari rendahnya hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA yang masih rendah,
masih dibawah KKM yaitu 75,00. Berdasarkan pengalaman peneliti, bahwa guru
selama ini terbiasa dengan menerapkan pendekatan dan metode yang
konvensional. Oleh karena itu, peneliti melakukan penelitian tindakan ini dengan
menerapkan pendekatan kontekstual yang sebelumnya belum pernah dilakukan
oleh guru dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian
Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dimulai dari perencanaan tindakan, pelaksanaan
tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi yang kemudian dibuat perencanaan perbaikan
yang digunakan dalam siklus selanjutnya. Penelitian ini dilakukan sebanyak dua
siklus. Pada siklus I, materi yang digunakan adalah Sifat Bahan dan Contohnya
dan pada siklus II materi yang digunakan adalah Sifat Bahan dan Kegunaannya.
Pada siklus I siswa yang telah dibagi ke dalam beberapa kelompok melakukan
percobaan kemudian dilanjutkan dengan diskusi kelas. Pada siklus II siswa
mengamati penggunaan media gambar yang dipajang oleh guru di depan kelas,
kemudian dilanjutkan dengan diskusi untuk membuat kesimpulan tentang materi
Sifat Bahan dan Kegunaannya. Keseluruhan tindakan yang dilakukan pada siklus I
dan siklus II diarahkan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Adapun
instrumen pengumpulan data berupa tes akhir siklus, Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS),
lembar observasi dan catatan refleksi siswa. Tes digunakan untuk mengetahui
hasil belajar siswa setelah pelaksanaan tindakan pembelajaran, lembar observasi
guru dan siswa digunakan untuk mengobservasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran
yang dilakukan oleh guru dan siswa sedangkan catatan refleksi siswa digunakan
untuk menjaring respon dan sikap siswa terhadap pembelajaran yang sudah
dilaksanakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa dari aspek
kognitif, kinerja dan sikap setelah dilakukan tindakan pembelajaran mengalami
peningkatan. Data menunjukan bahwa pada tindakan pembelajaran siklus I hasil
belajar siswa diperolehan nilai rata-rata 71,19 dan pada tindakan pembelajaran
siklus II terjadi peningkatan dengan perolehan nilai rata-rata 83,31. Adapun
rekomendasi bagi guru dan peneliti lain diharapkan penelitian ini dapat
memberikan inspirasi untuk melakukan penelitian penerapan pendekatan
pembelajaran kontekstual dengan metode yang variatif.----------This study entitled "Application of Learning science Contextual Approach
to Improve Learning Outcomes". This study aims to improve student learning
outcomes by applying a contextual approach in learning science. Subjects in this
study is the fourth grade students who were 30 students in the academic year
2015/2016 at SDN 1 Sindangkempeng Greged District of Cirebon. This study
originated from low learning outcomes of students in science subjects is still low,
it is still below the KKM is 75.00. Based on the experience of researchers, that the
teacher had been accustomed to applying conventional approaches and methods.
Therefore, researchers conducted a study of this action by applying a contextual
approach that had not been done by the teacher in the learning. This study uses a
Class Action Research (CAR), which starts from action planning, action,
observation, and reflection is then made planning improvements used in the next
cycle. This study was conducted by two cycles. In the first cycle, the materials
used are properties of materials and the example and the second cycle of the
materials used are properties of materials and its Use. In the first cycle of students
who have been divided into several groups doing experiments followed by class
discussion. In the second cycle students observe the use of media images
displayed by the teacher at the front of the class, followed by a discussion to make
conclusions about the material properties of materials and its Use. Overall the
action taken in the first cycle and the second cycle geared to improve student
learning outcomes. The data collection instruments such as the end of the test
cycle, the Student Worksheet (LKS), the observation sheet and record student
reflection. The test is used to determine student learning outcomes after the
implementation of the action learning, teacher and student observation sheet used
to observe keterlaksanaan learning undertaken by teachers and students while the
student reflection records used to collect responses and attitudes towards learning
are already being implemented. The results showed that the students' learning
result from the aspect of cognitive performance and attitude after the act of
learning has increased. Data showed that in the first cycle of learning measures of
student learning outcomes diperolehan average value of 71.19 and on action
learning cycle II increased with the acquisition of the average value of 83.31. The
recommendation for teachers and other researchers of this study are expected to
provide inspiration to research the application of contextual learning approach
with methods varied.
