Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence og hyperactive behavior that still exists in kindergarten and it required an action done bya teacher to overcome the hyperactive behavior. The purpose of this study is to find out the efforts of teachers in overcoming children who behave hyperactively in kindergarten. This study describes the child’s hyperactive behavior, how the teacher’s efforts overcome it, and the obstacle that occur when overcoming the hyperactive behavior on the children. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collections technique of this research is through observation and interview, analyzed by data reduction, data presentation, and data recall. The result of the research shows that (1) hyperactive behavior still exists in kindergarten for example child cannot be silent, (2) effort done by teacher is advising, giving more attention, and guiding, (3) obstacle that faced by the teacher is when the child is not listening and limitations of teachers itself in paying attention to the other child. The solution that provided in this research is giving an advise to the child, let the child do according to their own will, and sharing with other teachers. This study is aimed for the teachers to find out and understand more about hyperactive behavior situations, for school to plan special handling activities torough learning for children who behave hyperactively, as well as for researchers who can then use the other methods to find interesting facts related to teacher’s efforts to overcome hyperactive behavior in kindergarten.---- Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dengan adanya perilaku hiperaktif yang masih terdapat di taman kanak-kanak sehingga dibutuhkan sebuah tindakan yang dilakukan guru untuk mengatasi perilaku hiperaktif. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui upaya guru dalam mengatasi anak yang berperilaku hiperaktif di taman kanak-kanak. Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan perilaku hiperaktif anak, bagaimana upaya guru mengatasi, dan apa hambatan yang dialami saat mengatasi perilaku hiperaktif anak. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan wawancara dianalisis dengan cara reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) perilaku hiperaktif masih terdapat di taman kanak-kanak contohnya anak tidak bisa diam, (2) upaya yang dilakukan guru dengan menasehati, memberikan perhatian lebih, dan membimbing, (3) hambatan yang dihadapi guru yaitu ketika anak tidak menurut dan keterbatasan guru dalam memperhatikan. Adapun solusinya yaitu menasehati anak, membiarkan anak sesuai dengan kemauannya, serta sharing dengan guru lainnya. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan kepada guru untuk lebih mengetahui dan memahami keadaan perilaku hiperaktif, bagi sekolah untuk merencanakan penanganan khusus melalui pembelajaran kepada anak berperilaku hiperaktif, serta bagi peneliti selanjutnya dapat menggunakan metode lain untuk menemukan fakta-fakta menarik terkait upaya guru mengatasi perilaku hiperaktif di taman kanak-kanak.
