Abstract

Keterampilan sosial merupakan kemampuan anak dalam memahami perilaku dirinya terhadap orang lain, berinteraksi secara positif dengan yang lain sehingga terjalin suatu hubungan yang harmonis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui upaya orang tua dalam menstimulasi keterampilan sosial anak usia dini mencakup aspek-aspek keterampilan sosial. Usia dini merupakan usia masa peka anak, dimanaa anak sangat mudah menerima stimulasi dan informasi yang diberikan dari lingkungannya, baik di linngkungan keluarga maupun di lingkungan sosial anak. Lingkungan keluarga merupakan lingkungan yang pertama dikenali anak, orang tua perlu memberikan stimulasi yang tepat sebelum anak memasuki kehidupan sosialnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, desain penelitian studi kasus yang dilaksanakan di Blok Peradenan Kecamatan Lemahabang Kabupaten Cirebon. Partisipan penelitian ini yaitu tiga keluarga, orang tua yang memiliki anak usia dini dan tidak mendaftarkan anaknya mengikuti PAUD. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan wawancara dan obervasi. Berdasarkan hasil temuan, orang tua perlu memiliki pemahaman terhadap stimulasi keterampilan sosial. Menurut pemahaman orang tua, pentingnya anak memiliki keterampilan sosial agar anak dapat dengan mudah beradaptasi, bekerjasama dan berinteraksi dengan lingkungannya. Bentuk-bentuk pemberian stimulasi yang dapat dilakukan oleh orang tua, seperti memberi arahan, memberi pengertian, memberi nasehat dan lain sebagainya. Pemberian stimulasi yang tepat terhadap keterampilan sosial anak, tentunya anak akan menujukkan respon perilaku yang positif. Faktor-fakor yang dapat mempengaruhi keterampilan sosial berasal dari dalam diri anak dan lingkungan. Dalam mengembangkan keterampilan sosial anak, orang tua selalu saja dihadapkan dengan berbagai kendala. Mengatasi hal tesebut, orang tua perlu memahami karakteristik anak, bekomunikasi dengan baik kepada anak secara perlahan dan halus.---- Social skills are the ability of the children in understanding their behavior towards others and interacting positively with others so that a harmonious relationship is established. This study aims to determine the efforts of the parents in stimulating the social skills of early childhood includes the aspects of the social skills. Early childhood is the age of the child's sensitivity, whereas the children are very easy to receive stimulation and information provided by the environment, both in the family and social environment of the children. Family is the first environment recognized by children. Parents need to provide proper stimulation before their child enter his social life. This research uses a qualitative approach and case study research design which carried out in Blok Peradenan Kecamatan Lemahabang Kabupaten Cirebon. The participants of this study were three families, the parents who had an early childhood and did not enroll their children to early childhood education. Data collection techniques in this study using interviews and observations. Based on the results, parents need to have an understanding of the stimulation toward the social skills. According to the parents' understanding, it is important for the children having social skills so that the children can easily adapt, cooperate, and interact with their environment. The forms of stimulation that can be done by parents are giving the leads, the understanding, advice and so forth. Providing proper stimulation of the social skills of the children will make them show a positive behavioral response. The factors that can affect the social skills come from within the child and the environment. In developing the social skills of the children, parents are always faced various obstacles. Overcome to that, parents need to understand the characteristics of the children, have proper communication with children slowly.
