Abstract

Levels of Inquiry (LoI) merupakan suatu model pembelajaran yang dipandang dapat melatihkan kemampuan bereksperimen dan penguasaan konsep. Kemampuan bereksperimen ini dimaknai sebagai gabungan antara pengetahuan dan keterampilan untuk membangun proses penting dalam suatu penyelidikan ilmiah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi perkembangan kemampuan bereksperimen dan peningkatan penguasaan konsep siswa setelah diterapkannya model pembelajaran LoI dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian menggunakan one group pretest-posttest design. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS), tes penguasaan konsep dengan bentuk soal uraian, dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran LoI. Instrumen diberikan kepada 23 siswa di salah satu SMP Negeri di Kota Bandung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran LoI dapat mengembangkan kemampuan bereksperimen dan meningkatkan penguasaan konsep siswa. ---Levels of Inquiry (LoI) is a model of learning that is considered to be able to practice experimenting skills. This ability is interpreted as a combination of knowledge and skills to build an important process in a scientific investigation. This research aims to identify the development of experiment ability and increased students’ concepts mastery after implementing LoI model. Research using one group pretest-posttest design. The instrument that used is the student worksheet, concept mastery test, and the observation sheet to look at implementation LoI model in the learning. The instrument was given to 23 students in one of junior high school in Bandung. The results showed that the implementation of LoI model can develop the experiment ability of students and enhance students’ concepts mastery.
