Abstract

Model of Teaching Levels of Inquiry (LoI) merupakan model pembelajaran yang dipandang dapat melatihkan kemampuan bereksperimen. Kemampuan ini dimaknai sebagai gabungan antara pengetahuan dan ketrampilan sehingga dalam hal ini untuk menguji kemampuan eksperimen melibatkan konsep yang digunakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi perkembangan kemampuan bereksperimen dan meningkatkan penguasaan konsep siswa setelah diterapkannya LoI dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian menggunakan one group pre-test post-test design. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS), tes penguasaan konsep dengan bentuk soal uraian, dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan model of teaching LoI. Instrumen diberikan kepada 24 siswa di salah satu SMP Negeri di Kota Bandung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan Model of Teaching Levels of Inquiry (LoI) dapat mengembangkan kemampuan bereksperimen dan meningkatkan penguasaan konsep siswa.---Model of Teaching Levels of Inquiry (LoI) is a model of learning that is considered to be able to practice experimenting skills. This ability is interpreted as a combination of knowledge and skills so that in this case to test the ability of the experiment involves the concept in use. This study aims to identify the development of the ability to experiment and improve mastery of student concepts after the implementation of LoI in learning. The study used one group pre-test post-test design. Instruments used are Student Worksheet (LKS), concept mastering test with description form, and observation sheet of model of teaching LoI implementation. Instrument was given to 24 students in one of State Junior High School in Bandung City. The results show that the application of Model of Teaching Levels of Inquiry (LoI) can develop the ability to experiment and improve the mastery of student concepts.
