Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih terdapat siswa kelas X TBSM di SMK Negeri 8 Bandung yang belum tuntas setelah mengikuti pembelajaran dengan metode ceramah pada mata pelajaran Teknologi Dasar Otomotif. Mata pelajaran Teknologi Dasar Otomotif merupakan mata pelajaran dasar kejuruan yang ditempuh siswa SMK jurusan Teknik dan Bisnis Sepeda Motor (TBSM) yang menuntut siswa untuk menguasai dan memahami berbagai konsep dasar mengenai teknologi otomotif. Berdasarkan data awal yang diperoleh sebesar 62% siswa masuk ke dalam kriteria tuntas pada kompetensi yang diujikan sedangkan 38 % sisanya masuk dalam kategori tidak tuntas dengan nilai <75. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa dengan penerapan media pembelajaran engine cutting sepeda motor pada kompetensi memahami cara kerja engine empat langah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pra eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain penelitian one group pretest-posttest design. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah kelas X TBSM di SMK Negeri 8 Bandung tahun ajaran 2017/2018 dengan jumlah siswa 180 orang. Teknik sampel menggunakan nonprobability sampling dengan purposive sampling. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah kelas X TBSM 5 dengan jumlah 33 peserta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pembelajaran dengan penerapan media pembelajaran engine cutting sepeda motor didapat 94% siswa masuk dalam kategori tuntas. Penggunaan media engine cutting sepeda motor dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dengan peningkatan hasil belajar (N-gain) dengan nilai 0,68 yang termasuk dalam kriteria sedang setelah diberikannya posttest.---This research was based on a problem that there were students of X grade of TBSM in SMK Negeri 8 Bandung that had not passed the exam after followed the learning process by lecture method on the Basic Automotive Technology. Basic Automotive Technology is the basic subject of vocational education that was taken by SMK students majoring in Engineering and Business of Motorcycles (TBSM) which requires the students to understand various basic concepts about automotive technology. Based on preliminary data that was obtained, 62% of students were in the passed criteria on the competence which was tested while the remaining 38% of students were in the not passed criteria with the score test <75. This study aims to determine student learning outcomes with the application of learning media engine cutting on the competence to understand the workings of four-steps engine. This research was used the pre-experiment method by using one group pre-test-post-test research design. The population in this research was the students of X garde of TBSM in SMK Negeri 8 Bandung (academic year 2017/2018) with 180 students as the population. The sampling technique that had used is the nonprobability sampling with purposive sampling. The sample in this research was X grade of TBSM 5 with 33 students. The result showed that the learning process by applying the engine cutting media was obtained 94% students were in the passed criteria and the learning process can improve the student learning outcomes with the N-gain by 0.68 (medium criteria) after the post-test.
