Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pola asuh orang tua yang secara konsisten diterapkan berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan sosial anak. Pola asuh demokratis akan membentuk profil perilaku anak yang mendukung peningkatan keterampilan sosial. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui hubungan pola asuh dengan keterampilan sosial siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu penelitian korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu berupa angket tertutup dengan menggunakan skala Force Choice dan Multiple Choice. Penelitian dilakukan kepada 140 siswa kelas IV, V dan VI SD Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017 sebagai populasi penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif signifikan antara pola asuh demokratis dengan keterampilan sosial siswa. Siswa yang mendapat perlakuan pola asuh demokratis dari orang tua akan semakin terampil dalam mengaplikasikan keterampilan sosial. Rekomendasi penelitian berupa alternatif action plan layanan bimbingan dan konseling SD Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung untuk meningkatkan keterampilan sosial siswa dan pemahaman pola asuh demokratis bagi orang tua.;--- A consistently applied parental behavior pattern or parenting influences a child's social skills. Democratic parenting will shape a child's behavioral profile that promotes social skills improvement. The purpose of this research is to find about the relationship between parenting and students’ social skills. The research employed correlational method with quantitative approach. The instrument used was a closed-ended questionnaire using the scale of Forced Choice and Multiple Choice. The research was conducted to 140 fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students of UPI Laboratory Primary School, Bandung, Academic Year 2016/2017, as research population. The results showed a significantly positive correlation between democratic parenting and students’ social skills. Students who are raised with democratic parenting by their parents will be more skilled in applying social skills. The research recommendation is in the form of an alternative action plan for guidance and counseling services of UPI Bandung Laboratory Primary School to improve students' social skills and understanding of democratic parenting for parents.
