Abstract
Peserta didik tunarungu dalam komunikasi dengan masyarakat mengalami kesulitan dikarenakan kehilangan kemampuan dalam mendegar, sehingga mengalami hambatan dalam perkembangan bahasa. Untuk itu sekolah sebagai lembaga pendidikan formal memiliki peran sentral dalam proses pembelajaran salah satunya dalam pembelajaran membaca permulaan. Hambatan dalam membaca permulaan pada peserta didik tunarungu diantaranya disebabkan oleh adanya hambatan dalam pendengaran, sehingga dalam pembelajarannya diperlukan pendekatan yang tepat dan dapat membantu peserta didik tunarungu dalam membaca permulaan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan multisensori, terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan peserta didik tunarungu kelas IV SDLB di SLBN-A Citeureup Cimahi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen Single Subject Research (SSR) dengan model desain A-B-A. Penelitian dilakukan di SLBN-A Citeureup Cimahi. Dengan mengambil satu subjek penelitian yaitu tunarungu yang sedang duduk di kelas IV SDLB, dengan kemampuan awal dapat mengenal huruf, membaca huruf dan membaca dua suku kata KV. Hasil penelitian ditemukan adanya peningkatan kemampuan membaca permulaan dilihat dari peningkat mean level subjek pada fase baseline-1, fase intervensi (B) dan mean level fase baseline-2, dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan multisensori dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan peserta didik tunarungu yang diteliti. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat dijadikan bahan pertimbangan bagi guru dalam menerapkan pendekatan multisensori pada peserta didik tunarungu dalam proses pembelajaran membaca permulaan.---- Deaf learners in communications with the public are experiencing difficulty due to loss of ability to mendegar, so that experience barriers in language development. For that school as formal educational institutions have a central role in the process of learning one in learning to read the beginning. Barriers in reading beginning on deaf learners of which is caused by the presence of obstructions in the hearing, so that in the lesson that needed the right approach and can help deaf learners in reading the beginning. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of the multisensori approach, towards the beginning of the reading skills of deaf learners class IV SDLB in Citeureup Cimahi SLBN-A. The research method used is the method of Single Subject experiment Research (SSR) with design models A-B-A. Research conducted at the Citeureup Cimahi SLBN-A. By taking one of the subject that is deaf sitting in class IV SDLB, with the ability to recognize early letters, read the letter and read the two syllables KV. Results of the study found an increase in the ability to read the beginning of judging from the increase in the mean level of the subject on the baseline phase-1, phase of the intervention (B) and the mean baseline phase-2 level, thus it can be concluded that the multisensori approach can improve the ability to read the beginning of deaf learners are examined. The results of this research are expected to be used as consideration for teachers in implementing the approach of multisensori on deaf learners in the process of learning to read the beginning.
