Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan conferencing dengan model Numbered Heads Together (NHT) dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa di kelas V sekolah dasar. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan nonequivalent control group design sebagai desain penelitian. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu 50 siswa di kelas V sekolah dasar yang terdiri dari 25 siswa kelompok eksperimen dan 25 siswa kelompok kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu tes uraian dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Kelompok eksperimen menerapkan pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan conferencing tipe Numbered Heads Together (NHT), sedangkan kelompok kontrol menerapkan pembelajaran tanpa pendekatan conferencing dengan model Numbered Heads Together (NHT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa yang signifikan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol yang terlihat pada hasil uji t N-gain yaitu 0,00 dengan rata-rata N-gain kelompok eksperimen yaitu 0,70 dan kelompok kontrol yaitu 0,39. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan pendekatan conferencing dengan model Numbered Heads Together (NHT) memberikan pengaruh terhadap peningkatan keterampilan membaca pemahaman pada siswa kelas lima sekolah dasar.;---The purpose of this resarch is to find the effect of conferencing approach with Numbered Heads Together (NHT) model in improving students reading comprehension skills in fifth grade elementary school. The method used in this research is quasi experiment with nonequivalent control group design as research design. The subjects of this study were 50 students in fifth grade elementary school consisting of 25 students of the experimental group and 25 students of the control group. The instrument used is the test description, observation sheet implementation of learning, and research note. The experimental group applied conferencing approach with Numbered Heads Together (NHT) model, while the control group applied the learning without using conferencing approach and Numbered Heads Together (NHT) model. The results showed that there was a significant difference in reading comprehension of the students between the experimental group and the control group seen in the N-gain t test that is 0.00 with the average N-gain of the experimental group that is 0.70 and the control group is 0,39. So it can be concluded that conferencing approach with Numbered Heads Together (NHT) model has an effect on improving reading comprehension skill in fifth grade elementary school student.
