Abstract

Penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Picture and Picture dapat membantu pendidik dalam proses pembelajaran dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis efektivitas penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Picture and Picture dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada mata pelajaran Sejarah kelas X di SMA Negeri 4 Cimahi. Rumusan masalah umum dalam penelitian ini yaitu “Bagaimana efektivitas penerapan model pembelajaran Picture and Picture terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada mata pelajaran Sejarah di SMA Negeri 4 Cimahi?”. Sedangkan rumusan masalah khusus dalam penelitian ini yaitu “Apakah terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada aspek memberikan penjelasan sederhana (elementary clarification), aspek membangun keterampilan dasar (basic support), aspek membuat kesimpulan (inference), aspek membuat penjelasan lanjut (advanced clarification), dan aspek strategi dan takti (strategies and tactics) antara sebelum dan sesduah diterapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Picture and Picture pada mata pelajaran Sejarah di SMA Negeri 4 Cimahi?”. Metode yang diunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian one group time series design. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah cluster sampling. Hasil dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan secara umum menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Picture and Picture efektif digunakan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada mata pelajaran Sejarah kelas X di SMA Negeri 4 Cimahi. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan adanya peningkatan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis yang signifikan antara sebelum diterapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Picture and Picture (pretest) dan sesudah diterpkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Picture and Picture (posttest).---------- The implementation of Cooperative Learning Model Picture and Picture Type help the teacher in learning process to improve student’s critical thinking. The main of this research is for describe and analyze effectiveness of implementation cooperative learning model Picture and Picture type in improving student’s critical thinking in history subject tenth graders in SMA 4 Cimahi. The general formulation of problems in this research was, “How does the effectiveness of implementation cooperative learning model Picture and Picture type in improve student’s critical thinking in history subject of tenth graders in SMA 4 Cimahi?”. While the specific formulation of problem in this research was, “Does the students’ critical thinking that significance with the aspect of giving simple explanation (elementary clarification), aspect of building basic skill (basic support), aspect of making conclusion (inference), aspect of extending explanation (advanced clarification), and aspect of strategies and tactics improve before and after the implementation of cooperative learning model Picture and Picture type in history subject of tenth graders of SMA 4 Cimahi?”. Quasi-experimental design was employed in this study by using one group time series design. The instrument that was used in this study was essay test. The sampling was obtained by using cluster sampling. The result of this research showed that the implementation of cooperative learning model Picture and Picture type was effective to be used in order order to improve students’ critical thinking in history subject of tenth graders of SMA 4 Cimahi. It can be shown from the improvement in critical thinking test that was significance before and after the implementation of Picture and Picture (pretest) and after the implementation of Picture and Picture (posttest).
