Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan kerja sama siswa di SMP Pasundan 2 Bandung. Indikasi permasalahan yang ditemukan yaitu ketidakmampuan siswa ketika diberikan tugas kelompok oleh guru IPS. Peneliti ingin mengembangkan keterampilan kerja sama siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair and Share. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimen kuasi dengan desain non-equivalent control group design dengan satu macam perlakuan. Pada treatment pertama peningkatan keterampilan kerja sama siswa dapat dikategorikan “cukup”. Masih banyak siswa yang tidak mengikuti pembelajaran dengan baik dan protes dengan pengelompokan yang diatur oleh guru. Pada treatment kedua menunjukkan adanya peningkatan dengan kategori “Baik”. Meskipun sudah dalam kategori “Baik” tetapi beberapa siswa masih belum mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran dengan maksimal. Pada treatment ketiga mengalami peningkatan dengan berada pada kategori “Baik” dan seluruh siswa sudah mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran dengan maksimal sehingga keterampilan kerja sama merekapun meningkat. Kesimpulan penelitian ini yaitu penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair and Share dapat meningkatkan keterampilan kerja sama siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS. ---------- This research is motivated by the low skill of students’ cooperation skill in SMP Pasundan 2 Bandung. An indication of the problems found is the students' inability when given a group assignment by IPS teacher. Researchers want to develop students' cooperative skills by using Think Pair and Share type of cooperative learning model. This research uses a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design with one kind of treatment. In the first treatment, enhancement of students' cooperative skills can be categorized as "Fair". There are still many students who do not follow the learning well and protest with the teachers’ grouping arrangement. In the second treatment showed an increase with the category of "Good". Although already in the category of "Good" but some students still don't follow the learning activities with the maximum efforts. In the third treatment, the value of students has increased by being in the category of "Good" and all students have followed the learning activities with the maximum efforts so that their cooperation skills increased. The conclusion of this research is the application of Think Pair and Share type of cooperative learning model can enhance students’ cooperation skill in social studies learning.
