Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa representasi children social actors di Si Hati Putih beserta arti dari representasi tersebut. Data diambil dari lima cerita pendek yang berbeda di dalam buku Si Hati Putih berjudul "Si Hati Putih", "Sahabat Baru dari Jakarta", "Hantu yang Lapar", "Hadiah Tak Terduga", dan "Es Cendol Ulat Bulu". Penelitian ini menggunakan teori socio-semantic oleh van Leeuwen (2008) sebagai alat analisa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa sebagian besar children social actors direpresentasikan menggunakan strategi inklusi, khususnya menggunakan strategi aktivasi dan pasivasi. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa children social actors digambarkan sebagai mereka yang berjiwa individual, mandiri, dan suka bergaul. Terlebih lagi, nilai yang dominan dibalik representasi tersebut menunjukkan nilai-nilai yang dipegang oleh Mizan untuk mencerdaskan anak-anak Indonesia. Hasil penelitian ini kemudian memperkuat anggapan mengenai tak ada satupun teks yang polos, bahkan cerita anak mencerminkan nilai yang dianut oleh penerbitnya. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberi pemahaman lebih lanjut mengenai bagaimana children social actor direpresentasikan dalam teks sehari-hari. ---------- This study aims to investigate the representation of children social actors in Si Hati Putih along with its meaning. The data were collected from five different stories of Si Hati Putih entitled “Si Hati Putih”, “Sahabat Baru dari Jakarta”, “Hantu yang Lapar”, “Hadiah Tak Terduga”, and “Es Cendol Ulat Bulu”. The present study employs van Leeuwen‟s (2008) socio-semantic approach as the analytical tool. The results show that children social actors are mostly represented in inclusion, specifically in activation and passivation strategy. The results reveal that children social actors are represented as those who are independent have individuality, and sociable. Moreover, the dominant value behind the representations is Mizan‟s values to educate Indonesian children. These findings confirm the notion that no text is value free, even children stories reflect the values of its publisher. It is expected that the findings would give more insights into how children social actors are represented in everyday texts.
