Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh kekurangan anak berkebutuhan khusus
tunarungu dalam hal pengembangan kemampuan kognitif, bahasa, belajar, dan
membaca termasuk juga pemahaman terhadap isi bacaan. Oleh karena itu,
penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk merancang konsep media pembelajaran untuk
anak berkebutuhan khusus tunarungu dan mengimplementasikannya ke dalam
multimedia interaktif berbantuan model pembelajaran inkuiri. Dalam merancang
media tersebut mempertimbangkan 24 karakteristik anak atas multimedia yang
didapat berdasarkan studi literatur. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut maka metode
waterfall digunakan sebagai acuan dalam pembangunan media pembelajaran.
Eksperimen dilakukan di SLB Negeri Beringin Purwakarta dengan subjek
penelitian sebanyak 5 orang siswa kelas IV. Kemudian, hasil dari eksperimen diolah
dan dianalisis berdasarkan metode kualitatif. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa perolehan
nilai, persepsi siswa terhadap media, perasaan siswa pada saat dan setelah
menggunakan media, serta durasi rata-rata fokus siswa selama menggunakan media
sangatlah baik. Media pembelajaran yang telah dibangun terbukti memberikan
dampak positif untuk anak berkebutuhan khusus tunarungu namun, ada hal penting
yang harus dilakukan selama mengimplementasikan media yaitu adanya bimbingan
serta arahan di semua tahapan pembelajaran.----------This research was motivated by the lack of children with special needs,
namely deaf in terms of developing cognitive abilities, language, learning, and
reading as well as understanding the contents of the reading. Therefore, this study
is intended to design the concept of learning media for children with special needs
deaf and implement it into interactive multimedia with learning inquiry. In
designing the media consider 24 characteristics of children for multimedia obtained
based on literature studies. To achieve the goal, the waterfall method is used as a
reference in the development of learning media. The experiment was conducted in
SLB Negeri Beringin Purwakarta with the subject of research as many as 5 students
of grade IV. Then, the results of the experiment are processed and analyzed based
on qualitative methods. The results show that gains value, students perceptions of
the media, the feelings of students at the time and after using the media, as well as
the average duration of focus students in using the media is very good. Learning
media that have built proven to give a positive impact for children with special
needs deaf but, there are important things to do during implementing the media that
is the guidance and direction at all stages of learning.
