Abstract

Pengembangan bahan ajar untuk kegiatan pembelajaran di sekolah sangat dibutuhkan. Salah satu di antaranya adalah bahan ajar teks narasi untuk SMP kelas VII yang masih sangat terbatas. Para guru saat ini mengandalkan buku ajar paket pemerintah untuk mengajarkan teks narasi. Dalam Kurikulum 2013, KD teks narasi baru diajarkan pada Kurikulum 2013 revisi 2016. Belum banyak bahan ajar yang diterbitkan sesuai dengan revisi kurikulum tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar berupa modul teks narasi untuk siswa kelas VII SMP dengan model berpikir induktif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalan research and development (R&D) model Borg & Gall. Adapun model berpikir induktif mengacu pada langkah-langkah pembelajaran berpikir induktif yang dikembangkan oleh Joyce dkk. yang terdiri atas tiga kegiatan utama, yaitu a) pembentukan konsep, meliputi: mengalkulasi dan membuat daftar, mengelompokkan, dan membuat label dan kategori; b) interpretasi data, meliputi: mengidentifikasi hubungan-hubungan yang penting, mengeksplorasi hubungan-hubungan, dan membuat dugaan/ kesimpulan; dan c) penerapan prinsip, meliputi: membuat hipotesis, menjelaskan dan atau mendukung prediksi dan hipotesis, dan menguji kebenaran (verifikasi) prediksi. Penelitian ini menghasilkan beberapa hal, yaitu a) informasi bahwa bahan ajar teks narasi yang digunakan saat ini di SMP kelas VII masih terbatas; b) hasil pengembangan bahan ajar berupa modul teks narasi untuk siswa kelas VII SMP dengan model berpikir induktif; c) hasil uji pemakaian yang menunjukkan modul teks narasi untuk siswa kelas VII SMP dengan model berpikir induktif efektif untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa tentang teks narasi. The development of teaching material for learning activity in school is very needed. One of them is narration text teaching material for 7th grade of Junior High School which still very limited. Teachers today rely on textbook from government to teach narration text. In Curriculum 2013, The Basic Curriculum for new narration text is taught in Curriculum 2013 with 2016 revision. There are not many teaching materials which are published in accord with that curriculum revision. The aim of this study is to develop teaching material in the form of narration text module for 7th grade students of Junior High School with inductive thinking model. The method of study used is research and development (R&D) with Borg & Gall model. As for inductive thinking model refer to steps of inductive thinking learning developed by Joyce et al, which consist of three main activities, namely a) concept formation which comprise: calculating and making list, grouping and making label and category; b) data interpretation which comprise: identifying important relations, exploring relations, and making conjecture/conclusion; and c) the application of principle which comprise: making hypothesis, explaining and supporting prediction and hypothesis, and testing the truth (verification) of prediction. The result of study are a) information that narration text teaching material used now in 7th grade of Junior High School is still limited; b) the result of teaching material development in the form of narration text module for 7th grade students of Junior High School with inductive thinking model; c) the usage test result which shows that narration text module for 7th grade students of Junior High School with inductive thinking module design is effective to increase students’ knowledge about narration text.
