Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan peningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VII SMP pada materi perpindahan kalor melalui pembelajaran metode inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan multimedia dengan tanpa bantuan multimedia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu dengan desain “pretest-posttest control group design. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII sebanyak 66 orang di salah satu SMPN di Kabupaten Cianjur, yang dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok. Kelompok pertama menggunakan pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan multimedia sebagai kelas eksperimen sebanyak 33 orang dan kelompok kedua menggunakan pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing tanpa bantuan multimedia sebagai kelas kontrol sebanyak 33 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen tes pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Kesimpulan diambil berdasarkan hasil pengolahan dan analisis data dengan teknik pengolahan menggunakan program SPSS for Windows versi 16.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan metode inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan multimedia secara signifikan dapat lebih meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran dengan metode inkuiri terbimbing. Rata-rata N-Gain pemahaman konsep kelas eksperimen 0,54 (kategori sedang) dan kelas kontrol 0,44 (kategori sedang) sedangkan rata-rata N-Gain keterampilan berpikir kritis untuk kelas eksperimen 0,41 (kategori sedang) dan kelas kontrol 0,30 (kategori rendah). Kata Kunci : inkuiri terbimbing; multimedia; pemahaman konsep; keterampilan berpikir kritis;--- The purpose of this research is to know the difference of improvement of understanding the concept and critical thinking skill of seventh grade student in heat transfer materials through science learning using guided inquiry method with in aided multimedia and without the aided multimedia. The research method used is quasi experiment with design “pretest-posttest control group design” The subjects of the research were seventh grade students of 66 people in one of the secondary schools in Cianjur district, which is divided into 2 groups. The first group as the experiment class as many as 33 people using guided inquiry learning in multimedia and second group as control class as many as 33 people using guided inquiry learning without aid multimedia. The data was collected using the understanding of concepts and critical thinking skills test instrument. The conclusion is taken based on the results of processing and data analysis with processing techniques using the program SPSS for Windows version 16.0. The result of the research shows that learning with guided inquiry method with in aided multimedia can significantly improve the students' understanding of concept and critical thinking skill compared with guided inquiry method. The average N-Gain of understanding of concepts the experimental class is 0.54 (medium category) and control class is 0.44 (medium category) whereas the average N-Gain of critical thinking skills for the experimental class is 0.41 (medium category) and control class 0.30 (low category).
