Abstract
Pembelajaran menulis diyakini sebagai pembelajaran yang sulit bagi siswa. Ditemukan dalam penelitian, siswa mengeluh jika diminta untuk menulis dan paragraf yang ditulis siswa tidak selesai sehingga nilai menulis masih di bawah standar. Pemilihan model pembelajaran yang tepat digunakan untuk memperbaiki masalah tersebut dan bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan menulis. Tujuan penelitian ini, mengetahui proses awal pembelajaran berlangsung, mendeskripsikan rancangan awal pembelajaran, dan mengembangkan model pembelajaran. Desain penelitian dirancang dengan menggunakan penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D). Pelaksanaan pembelajaran dilakukan dua kali yaitu uji coba terbatas kelas VIII SMPN 3 Tayan Hilir dan SMPN 6 Parindu. Dilanjutkan revisi dan uji coba luas kelas VIII SMPN 3 Tayan Hilir, SMPN 4 Meliau, dan SMPN 6 Parindu. Dari uji coba, diperoleh hasil kinerja siswa tentang menulis teks eksposisi. Langkah pembelajaran proyek yaitu penentuan proyek, perencanaan langkah, perencanaan jadwal, penyelesaian, publikasi, dan evaluasi proyek. Aspek penilaian menulis teks eskposisi meliputi: isi teks, struktur isi teks, kaidah kebahasaan, mekanik. Dari hasil tersebut, dilakukan uji t untuk melihat perbedaan signifikan antara uji coba terbatas dan uji coba luas. Hasil pengolahan data yang diperoleh thitung = -3,654 sementara ttabel diperoleh 1,98 berdasarkan hasil uji tersebut thitung < ttabel sehingga H0 ditolak H1 diterima. Kesimpulannya terdapat perbedaan kemampuan menulis teks eksposisi pada uji coba terbatas dan uji coba luas. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran berbasis proyek berbantuan media fotografi dokumenter sosial dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks eksposisi di kelas VIII. ;---Learning writing is believed to be a difficult learning for students. It is found in the study, students complain when they were asked to write and the student’s written paragraphs are not completed, so writing score is still below the standard. The selection of the right learning model is used to correct the problem and it aims to improve writing skills. The Purpose of this research, namely: to find out the initial process of learning, to describe the initial design of learning, and to develop learning model. Design of this study use research and development (R&D). The implementation of learning is conducted in two times, that is, limited pilot testing in class VIII of SMPN 3 Tayan Hilir and SMPN 6 Parindu. Then it is followed by revision and large pilot testing in class VIII of SMPN 3 Tayan Hilir, SMPN 4 Meliau, and SMPN 6 Parindu. From the pilot testing, it is obtained the result of students’ performance in exposition text writing. The assessment aspects of exposition text writing comprise: content of text, structure of text content, linguistic rule, and mechanic. From this result, test t is done to see the significant difference between limited pilot testing and large pilot testing. The result of data processing obtain tcalculated = -3.654 while ttable = 1.98. Based on this test result, tcalculated < ttable, H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. The conclusion is that there is difference in exposition text writing ability in limited pilot testing and large pilot testing. Therefore, it can be concluded that project based learning aided by social documentary photography media can enhance exposition text writing ability in class VIII.
