Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran. Hal ini dikarenakan, pembelajaran masih berpusat pada guru. Untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa, peneliti menerapkan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). Pendekatan CTL terdiri dari tujuh komponen, yaitu konstruktivisme, bertanya, penemuan, masyarakat belajar, pemodelan, refleksi, dan penilaian yang sebenarnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan penerapan pendekatan CTL untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas IV SD. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Menggunakan model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart dengan dua siklus yang terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi serta refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, terjadi peningkatan. Nilai rata-rata pada pra siklus hanya 40,38, kemudian meningkat pada siklus I menjadi 68,3, dan meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 80,95. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penerapan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.;---This research happens to be due to students' lack of critical thinking in learning. Since, the learning process still focused on teachers. To develop students' critical thinking, this study applied contextual approach. Contextual approach consists of seven components which are constructivism, asking the community, discovery, learning, modeling, reflections, and the actual assessment. This study aims to describe implementation of contextual approach to improve critical thinking skills grade IV elementary school. This study happens to be a research action class. It used model of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart which has two cycle that consist of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The findings show that there is improvement. The average value of student’s critical thinking was only 40.38, then increasing into 68.3 in cycle I, and increasing into 80.95 cycle II. In conclusion, contextual approach can enhance the critical thinking skills of students.
