Abstract
Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) mengenai penggunaan media realia untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematika di salah satu SDN di Kota Bandung. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui langkah-langkan pembelajaran saintifik dengan menggunakan media realia; (2) mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dengan menggunakan media realia dalam pembelajarannya. Pelaksanaan penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar matematika siswa dalam memahami konsep matematika dengan hanya 40,54% peserta didik yang lulus KKM ≥70 pada saat pengambilan data awal. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, maka dilakukan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang mengadaptasi dari model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart dengan dua siklus. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dengan menerapkan langkah pembelajaran saintifik dengan menggunakan media realia. Pada siklus pertama sebanyak 73% siswa sudah mampu mengelompokkan jenis-jenis sudut dan mengalami peningkatan pada siklus dua menjadi 99%, persentase tersebut sudah masuk kedalam kriteria tinggi. Kemampuan membandingkan besar sudut mengalami peningkatan dari 81% meningkat menjadi 83% pada siklus dua, persentase tersebut sudah masuk kedalam kriteria tinggi. Selain dari peningkatan setiap indikator, nilai rata-rata juga meningkat dari 75 menjadi 91 pada siklus dua. Sementara untuk presentase ketuntasan belajar secara klasikal meningkat dari 66% menjadi 91%, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media realia yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran saintifik dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas 3 Sekolah Dasar. ;---This research was a classroom action research (CAR) on the use of media realia to improve the understanding of mathematics concept in one of elementary school in Bandung City. This research aimed at (1) describing the steps of learning by using realia media; (2) descibing the improvement of students’ ability in comprehending mathematical concept by using realia media in learning activity. The implementation of this research was based on the students’ low learning outcomes in understanding the concept of mathematics with only 40.54% of students who passed the passing grade ≥70 in initial data collection. Based on these problems, Classroom Action Research was done by adapting the two cycles model by Kemmis and Mc.Taggart. The results of the research showed that the ability of understanding mathematical concepts increased by applying the scientific learning steps by using realia media. In the first cycle, 73% of students were able to classify angle types, then increased to 99% in the second cycle, the percentage is included in the high criteria. The ability to compare angles increased from 81% to 83% in cycle two, the percentage included in the high criteria. Apart from the increase of each indicator, the average value also increased from 75 to 91 in cycle two. While for the percentage of learning mastery classically increased from 66% to 91%, it can be concluded that the realia media used in scientific learning can improve the understanding of mathematical concepts of third graders of elementary school.
