Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui (1) peningkatan kemampuan berpikir geometri antara siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan model Brain Based Learning dan siswa dengan pembelajaran konvensional; (2) respons siswa terhadap pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan model Brain Based Learning. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitiannya adalah non equivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII di salah satu SMP Negeri di Lembang, tahun ajaran 2016/2017, selanjutnya diambil dua kelas sebagai sampel dari sejumlah kelas VII dengan teknik purposive sampling. Satu kelas sebagai kelas eksperimen yang mengikuti pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan model Brain Based Learning dan satu kelas lainnya sebagai kelas kontrol yang mengikuti pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan model konvensional. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa: (1) peningkatan kemampuan berpikir geometri siswa pada kelas eksperimen yang mendapatkan pembelajaran matematika dengan model Brain Based Learning lebih baik daripada siswa pada kelas kontrol yang mendapatkan pembelajaran model konvensional; (2) respons siswa secara keseluruhan memberikan respon yang tergolong baik terhadap proses pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan model Brain Based Learning. ;--- The objectives of this research is to know (1) increasing the ability of geometrical thinking between students who get learning teaching of mathematics using the model of Brain Based Learning and students with conventional learning model; (2) students’ responses of learning teaching of mathematics using the model of Brain Based Learning. The method used in this research is experimental quasi by research designing of non equivalent control group design. The population of this research is the VII grade students of a certain state Junior High School (SMP) in Lembang, in academic year of 2016/2017. The sample of this research using two classes from the classes of grade VII with purposive sampling. One class, as experimental class with learning teaching of mathematics using the model of Brain Based Learning, while other class, as control class joining conventional learning teaching of mathematics.. Based on this research, it can be concluded that: (1) the improvement ability of geometrical thinking in the experimental class which get mathematics learning by using Brain Based Learning model is better than students in the control class that get the conventional learning; (2) all students give good responses to the learning teaching of mathematics using the model of Brain Based Learning.
