Abstract

Penelitian ini didasarkan pada kurangnya kualitas pembelajaran sains di Sekolah Dasar dalam menerapkan etika lingkungan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku kepedulian lingkungan siswa. Berdasarkan alasan tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan dalam penerapan etika lingkungan pada pembelajaran sains melalui project based learning untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku kepedulian lingkungan siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu quasi experiment dengan desain pre and posttest design. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kelas V salah satu sekolah dasar swasta di Kabupaten Garut pada tahun pelajaran 2014-2015 dengan subjek penelitian 42 siswa kelas eksperimen dan 42 siswa kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen diberikan perlakuan PjBL, sedangkan kelas kontrol tanpa PjBL. Kedua kelompok tersebut diberikan pretest dan posttest dengan instrumen yang sama. Instrumen yang digunakan terdiri dari soal pilihan ganda untuk mengukur pengetahuan kepedulian lingkungan siswa, skala sikap untuk mengukur sikap kepedulian lingkungan siswa, lembar observasi untuk mengukur perilaku kepedulian lingkungan siswa, dan lembar observasi guru dan siswa saat pembelajaran untuk melihat keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Data pretest dan posttest diolah dengan menggunakan program SPSS 20 for Window dan Microsoft Excel 2010. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan hasil peningkatan yang kurang signifikan. Peningkatan pengetahuan kepedulian lingkungan sebesar 0,381 dengan kategori sedang; untuk sikap kepedulian lingkungan sebesar 0,22 dengan kategori rendah; dan untuk perilaku kepedulian lingkungan sebesar 0,682 dengan kategori sedang. Disimpulkan bahwa etika lingkungan pada pembelajaran sains melalui project based learning dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan perilaku kepedulian lingkungan siswa. Dalam meningkatkan sikap kepedulian lingkungan yang signifikan, maka direkomendasikan untuk menggunakan waktu yang relatif panjang sehingga memungkinkan guru memiliki banyak waktu untuk melakukan retensi terhadap perubahan sikap.;--- The study was based on a lack of quality of studying science in primary schools in implementing Environmental ethics to improve knowledge, attitude and behavior of students' Environmental awareness. Based on these reasons, this research has purposes the implementation of environmental ethics in studying science through Project-Based Learning to improve knowledge, attitudes and behavior and students’ environmental awareness. The method used in this research was quasi-experimental design with pre and post test design. The research was conducted in grade V of one private elementary school in Garut district in school year of 2014-2015 with research subject, 42 students in experimental class and 42 students in control class. PjBL treatment was given to Experimental Class, while the control class without PjBL treatment. Both groups were given a pre-test and post test with the same instrument. The Instrument used consists of multiple choice questions to measure students 'knowledge of environmental awareness, attitude scale to measure students' environmental awareness attitudes, observation sheets to measure the behavior of the student environmental awareness and observation sheets teachers and students in the process of studying to see the process of teaching and learning. The Data of pre-test and post test processed by using SPSS 20 for windows and Microsoft Excel 2010. The results of data analysis showed the less significant increasing result. The Improvement of environmental student awareness knowledge 0.381 with the medium category, for the environmental awareness attitude 0.22 with a lower category; and for the environmental awareness behavior 0.682 with the medium category. It was concluded that environmental ethics in studying science through Project Based Learning can enhance the knowledge and behavior of students' environmental awareness. In raising awareness of significant environmental attitude, it is recommended to use a relatively long time process to allow teachers for having more time to do the retention of the changes in attitudes.
