Abstract

Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan pendekatan yang digunakan siswa Sekolah Dasar kelas satu sampai dengan kelas enam ketika menjelaskan fenomena alam. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pendekatan yang digunakan siswa dengan latar belakang sekolah yang berbeda yaitu Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, Sekolah Dasar Negeri, dan Sekolah Dasar Swasta. Serta untuk mengetahui perbedaan pendekatan yang digunakan siswa pada setiap jenjang kelas. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh konsep pembelajaran IPA yang diperoleh dari hasil penyelidikan fenomena yang terjadi di alam, namun masyarakat seringkali memandang fenomena alam yang dianggap tidak lazim dengan sudut pandang non ilmiah. Media seringkali mempublikasikan fenomena alam yang dikaitkan dengan mitos. Masyarakat dan media mempunyai peran yang sangat berpengaruh terhadap konsep berpikir siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Data yang dikumpulkan untuk menjawab pertanyaan penelitian yaitu hasil tes siswa mengenai fenomena alam yang diperkuat dengan wawancara. Hasil tes menunjukkan Siswa dari ketiga sekolah dominan menggunakan pendekatan ilmiah namun semakin tinggi jenjang kelas semakin rendah penggunaan persentase pendekatan ilmiahnya dan semakin beragam pendekatan yang digunakan siswa. Hal ini menunjukkan siswa sudah mempunyai dasar berpikir ilmiah, namun perlu penguatan dari lingkungan sekitarnya agar konsep berpikir ilmiah dapat menjadi pola pikir dan dasar pemecahan masalah dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.;--- This research describe perspective that used by Elementary School Student from first until sixth grade when explain science phenomenon. The purpose of this research are to understand perspective that used by student with different school background, such as Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, Public Elementary School, and Private Elementary School, also to understand the differences between each perspective that used by Student in every grade. Backgrounds of this research are society that often to judge unusual science phenomenon from non-scientific perspective, and media publications also relate this phenomenon with myth. It has contradiction with science concept which is scientific that obtain from the research of science phenomenon. Media and society is a role model to influence students’ perspective. Method that used for this research is descriptive qualitative. Data are collected based on student’s test result and interview to explain science phenomenon as an answer for this research. Test result show that student from all school mostly have scientific perspective, however higher the grade followed by lower percentages of using scientific perspective and increase diversity of student’s perspective. It show that student have a scientific perspective at the beginning, but need reinforcement from their neighborhood so scientific perspective can be used as a mindset and problem solving in daily life.
