Abstract
Penelitian ini di latar belakangi oleh adanya masalah yang ditemukan pada pembelajaran boga dasar di SMK yaitu sebagian besar peserta didik tidak mengerti dengan baik pada saat mengikuti pembelajaran di kelas. Tujuan penelitian untuk menggali informasi manfaat yang dirasakan oleh siswa setalah mengikuti pembelajaran Boga Dasar, ditinjau dari kemampuan pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 145 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan sampel random jumlah sampel sebanyak 60 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa persentase manfaat yang dirasakan oleh peserta didik pada kemampuan pengetahuan sebesar 64% berada pada kriteria cukup bermanfaat, pada kemampuan sikap sebesar 71% berada pada kriteria bermanfaat sedangkan pada kemampuan keterampilan sebesar 73% berada pada kriteria bermanfaat. Saran bagi peserta didik agar lebih menambah pengetahuan yang telah didapatkan khususnya tentang bumbu dasardengan cara memperbanyak sumber belajar. Saran bagi guru agar lebih memotivasi peserta didik dalam pembelajaran. Kata Kunci : Manfaat, Model Discovery Learning, Pembelajaran Boga Dasar This research conducted based on the problem found in basic Culnary learning process of SMK 3 students in Cimahi: 58% students did not clearly comprehend the Culinary subjects when attending the class. The purpose of this research is to identify the benefits of information they gained from the subject after participating in discovery learning model based on their development on knowledge, attitudes, and their skills. Descriptive method was applied to collect the data of 145 students in grade ten catering services. This research also used random sampling technique in which data of 60 students in grade ten catering services participated. The result shows that 64% students feel the applied learning model advantageous enough in improving their knowledge, 71% students feel advantageous in improving their attitudes, and 73% students agree that the discovery learning model is advantageous in improving their skills. This research suggests that the students have to enhance their abilities especially their knowledge about spices by doing extensive lerning and reading on Basic Spice. On the other hand, the teachers also have to motivate their students better in their basic culnary learning activities. Key words: Advantages, Discovery Learning, Basic Culinary.
