    Abstract

    Remaja yang sedang mencari jati diri akan mencoba berbagai macam hal baru yang membuatnya merasa tertantang. Sedangkan sebagai remaja tunarungu yang mempunyai keterbatasan pendengaran membuat perkembangannya terhambat dikarenakan dampak dari ketunarunguannya. Kondisi dimana tunarungu mengalami keterbatasannya tersebut membuatnya harus menyesuaikan diri lebih berat dibandingkan remaja pada umumnya. Fokus dalam masalah ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana penyesuaian diri remaja tunarungu di tingkat SMK dalam aspek kematangan emosional, kematangan intelektual, kematangan sosial dan tanggung jawab. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap dua orang siswa SMK, teman sebaya, dan orang tua. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa subjek MI dan PD mengalami penyesuian diri yang cukup baik walaupun keduanya mempunyai sifat yang berbeda. MI yang Percaya diri dan cuek, sedangkan PD yang pemalu dan pendiam.

    who is looking for identity would try various kind of new things that make him feel challenged. Meanwhile adolescent with hearing impairment that have disability make hampered their development due to the impact of hearing impairment. where the condition of adolescent with hearing impairment that has disability make they should adjustment hardly than adolescent in general. The focus of this research is to knowing how adjustment of adolescent at the SMK in emotional aspects, intellectual, social, and responsibility. This research used descriptive methods with qualitative approach. The research was done against two subject, their peers, and their parents. Data collection is done through observation, interview, and study documentation. The result of research show that the subject of MI and PD having good self adjustment although both of them have different characteristics. The confidence and cool of MI, while the shy and quiet of PD.
