Abstract
Penelitian dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh mucilage buah okra (Abelmoschusesculentus) terhadap kadar gula dan kolesterol darah mencit yang diinduksi aloksan telah dilakukan. Induksi aloksan dilakukan untuk membuat kondisi hiperglikemik. Hiperglikemik merupakan kondisi gula darah tinggi sehingga terjadi penyakit diabetes mellitus. Komplikasi diabetes mellitus diiringi peningkatan asam lemak sehingga terjadi kenaikan nilai kadar kolesterol total dalam darah. Kondisi tersebut dinamakan diabetes dislipidemia. Metode penelitian eksperimental dengan desain rancangan acak lengkap dilakukan dalam jangka waktu 7 hari setelah aklimatisasi 30 hari. Terdapat 24 mencit yang dibagi menjadi empat kelompok yaitu A, B, C, D.kelompok A dan B sebagai control netral dan positif, sedangkan C dan D sebagai kelompok dosis (2,8g dan 5,6g/kg BB mencit/hari). Kelompok B,C,D diinduksi Aloksan sebesar 2,6mg/kg BB dengan cara disuntik melalui vena caudal. Mucilage sebagai zat bahan uji dihasil kandari buah okra melalui proses perendaman dalam air selama satu jam dan kemudian diremas-remas, selanjutnya diberikan pada mencit secara oral menggunakan jarum gavage. Hari kedelapan setelah pemberian bahan uji, seluruhmencitditessampeldarahnyamenggunakanalatEasy Touch GCU 3 in 1. Data dianalisis statistic Anova, Krustal-Wallis dan regresi pada aplikasi SPSS 16. Hasil penelitian menunjukan penurunan rerata kadar gula dan kolesterol darah kelompok dosis secara signifikan terhadap kelompok control serta terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara kondisi hiperglikemik terhadap kadar kolesterol dalam darah. Disimpulkan bahwa mucilage buah okra dapat menurunkan kadar gula darah mencit dan berkorelasi dengan penurunan kadar kolesterol darah mencit.;---- Research with the aim to determine the effect of mucilage fruit okra (Abelmoschusesculentus) on blood sugar and cholesterol levels in mice induced by alloxan has been done. Induction alloxan made to hyperglycemic conditions. It was the form of diabetes mellitus. Complications of diabetes mellitus accompanied by increasing fatty acid and also increased the value of total cholesterol in blood. It is called diabetic dyslipidemia. The research method used type of experimental with completely randomized design for a period of 7 days treatment after aclimation 30 days. Twentyfourmices were divided into four groups namely A,B,C,D while A and B served as neutral and positive controls, respectively; C and D served as experimental (2,8g and 5,6g/kg bodyweight mice/day). Groups B,C,D were induced alloxan at 2,6mg/kg bodyweight on caudal by injection method. Then, Mucilage okra (by soaking and crushing results) given orally using a gavage. Whole blood samples tested in mice using the tool Easy Touch GCU 3 in 1. Data analyzed on anova, crustal wallis and regression by SPSS 16. The result showed that decrease the average blood sugar and cholesterol levels significantly dose group over controls and there was a significant relationship between hyperglycemic conditions over total cholesterol in blood. It was concluded that the mucilage fruit okra may lower blood sugar levels in mice and correlated with decreased levels of blood cholesterol.
