Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan kinerja mengajar guru di Kabupaten Ciamis yang belum optimal. Berdasarkan temuan, bahwa guru yang memiliki latar belakang pendidikan sarjana, belum tersertifikasi dan berpenghasilan kecil memiliki kinerja yang lebih baik dan optimal daripada yang sudah tersertifikasi dan memiliki penghasilan besar. Hal tersebut menjadi alasan yang mendasari tujuan penelitian ini, yaitu mengetahui gambaran dan perbedaan kinerja mengajar guru TK di Kabupaten Ciamis pada tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 berdasarkan latar belakang demografi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode komparatif, desain penelitian ex post facto dengan subjek penelitian yaitu guru TK se-Kabupaten Ciamis sebanyak 275 orang yang dipilih secara random setelah dibagi ke dalam tiga wilayah. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah angket. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji t dan uji ANOVA satu jalur. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan kinerja mengajar guru TK di Kab. Ciamis pada tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 secara keseluruhan berada pada kriteria optimal. Selanjutnya ditinjau dari latar belakang pendidikan, status sertifikasi guru dan besaran penghasilan menunjukkan kinerja mengajar yang optimal pula. Kemudian tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan kinerja mengajar guru berdasarkan latar belakang pendidikan, serta terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan kinerja mengajar guru berdasarkan status sertifikasi guru dan besaran penghasilan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, Implikasi penelitian ini mengantarkan pada rekomendasi peneliti diantaranya untuk meninjau ulang terhadap kebijakan pemerintah tentang kualifikasi pendidikan para guru serta peningkatan tunjangan yang diberikan pada guru. ;--- The background to the research is the problem of the less than optimal teaching performance of teachers in Ciamis Regency. Based on the previous research findings, teachers who have an undergraduate educational background, have not been certified, and have low income have better and more optimal performance than those who have been certified and have large income. Thus, the research aims to gain a description of and find about the differences in the teaching performance of kindergarten teachers in Ciamis Regency for the academic year of 2015/2016 based on demographic backgrounds. The research adopted a comparative method, employing an ex-post facto design, with a total of 275 kindergarten teachers in Ciamis regency randomly selected and divided into three areas as the research subjects. Data were collected with questionnaires. The data were analyzed with t-test and one-way ANOVA. The findings of this research show that the teaching performance of the kindergarten teachers in Ciamis Regency for the academic year of 2015/2016 in general was classified as optimal. In terms of academic background, teacher certification status, and income amount, the teaching performance was categorized into optimal as well. Furthermore, there was no significant difference in the teaching performance based on academic backgrounds, while there was significant difference in the teaching performance based on teacher certification status and income amount. Based on these findings, the implications of this research are, among others, for the government’s policy on teachers’ education qualifications and increased allowances for teachers.
