Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh beberapa permasalahan yang dialami oleh siswa dalam menjawab soal-soal dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Permasalahan tersebut didasari oleh data awal yang didapatkan dari hasil pretest siswa dalam keterampilan membaca pemahaman. Penelitian ini meneliti tentang penerapan model kooperatif tipe Team Assisted Individually (TAI). Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui penerapan model kooperatif tipe Team Assisted Individually (TAI) terhadap keterampilam membaca pemahaman siswa kelas 5 Sekolah Dasar. Hasil penelitian dari pretest didapatkan rata-rata nilai 62,62 dengan tingkat ketuntasan KKM (72) 60%, rata-rata nilai keterampilan membaca pemahaman siklus I sebesar 76 dengan tingkat ketuntasan 85%, dan rata-rata nilai keterampilan membaca pemahaman siklus II sebesar 89 dengan tingkat ketuntasan 90%.Berdasarkan data tersebut, maka penerapan model kooperatif tipe Team Assisted Individually (TAI) dapat meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas 5 sekolah dasar. Maka direkomendasikan kepada guru kelas untuk selanjutnya dapat menerapkan model kooperatif tipe Team Assisted Individually (TAI) dalam pembelajaran keterampilan membaca pemahaman.;---The study is motivated by numbers of problems faced by students in answering the questions during the learning activities. The problem is based on the preliminary data obtained from the students’ pretest in reading comprehension.The study examines the implementation of model of cooperative team assisted individually. The purpose of the study is to discover the implementation of the model of cooperative team assisted individually towards the reading comprehension of fifth grade of elementary schools students. The research is conducted by using classroom action research method with the spiral model research proposed by Kemmis and Taggart. The result of the pretest shows that subjects obtain the average score of 62.62 with the level of completeness of KKM (72) is 60%. As for the average score of the reading comprehension cycle 1 is 76%, with 85% of level of completeness, and the average score of the reading comprehension cycle 2 is 89% with 90% of completeness. The preceding data shows that the application of model of cooperative team assisted individually can improve the reading comprehension skill of the fifth grade of elementary school. The study suggests the future teachers to apply the model of cooperative team assisted individually in teaching reading comprehension skill.
