Abstract

Penelitian ini berlatarbelakang dari pentingnya memiliki kemampuan membaca yang memadai. Pada era penyebaran informasi yang sangat cepat dan mudah saat ini pembaca harus dapat memilih bacaan yang bermanfaat. Penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen kuasi. Tujuan penelitian ini (1) mendeskripsikan profil pembelajaran membaca siswa kelas VIII SMP Pasundan 2 Cimahi; (2) mendeskripsikan proses pembelajaran membaca kritis artikel opini dengan metode pembelajaran resiprokal di kelas eksperimen dan metode ceramah dan diskusi di kelas kontrol; (3) membuktikan keefektifan metode resiprokal dalam pembelajaran membaca kritis artikel opini. Metode yang diterapkan dalam pembelajaran adalah metode pembelajaran resiprokal. Pada pembelajaran ini siswa diberi peran (pemrediksi, perangkum, penanya, dan pengklarifikasi). Siswa secara berkelompok membagi peran dan bertukar peran. Penerapan metode ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kekritisan siswa dalam kegiatan membaca kritis. Terdapat perbedaan signifikan nilai rata-rata tes awal dan tes akhir siswa di kelas eksperimen dan di kelas kontrol. Nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen pada tes awal 69,5 meningkat menjadi 72,8 pada tes akhir. Nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol pada tes awal sebesar 64,8 dan 62,8 pada tes akhir. Berdasarkan analisis statistik didapatkan hasil thitung > ttabel yaitu 7,02 >2,0021 yang berarti bahwa metode pembelajaran resiprokal efektif dalam pembelajaran membaca kritis artikel opini daripada pembelajaran membaca kritis yang menggunakan metode terlangsung di kelas kontrol. Oleh karena itu, metode pembelajaran dapat dijadikan pilihan metode dalam mengajarkan membaca kritis di sekolah.;--- This research is motivated by the important reading skills, because in the era of information dissemination is very fast and easy this time the reader should be able to choose readings useful. The research use quasi experimental method. The purpose of this study are to (1) describe the profile of learning in reading class VIII SMP Pasundan 2 Cimahi; (2) describe the process of learning to read critically opinion article with reciprocal learning methods in the classroom experiments and lecture and discussion methods in control classes; (3) proves the effectiveness of the method of reciprocal learning critical reading opinion article. The method applied in learning is reciprocal learning method. In this lesson the student is given the role (predictor, summariser, questioner, and clarifier). Students in groups dividing roles and swapped roles. Application of this method aims to enhance the activity and the criticality of the students in critical reading activities. There is a significant difference in the average value of the initial test and final test the students in the experimental class and control class. The average value of the experimental class at the pratest increased by 69.5 to 72.8 at the posttest. The average value of the control class in the pratest of 64.8 and 62.8 in the posttest. Statistic analysic describe that 2,0021 ≤ 7,02 .That is, the reciprocal learning methods are effective in learning critical reading opinion article VIII grade students of SMP Pasundan 2 Cimahi. Therefore, the learning method can be used as selection method in teaching critical reading in school.
