Abstract

Membaca merupakan salah satu keterampilan berbahasa. Penelitian ini membahas mengenai penggunaan metode Index Card Match untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca teks bahasa Perancis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh data tentang: 1) tingkat kemampuan membaca teks bahasa Perancis siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan metode Index Card Match; 2) keefektifan metode Index Card Match dalam pembelajaran membaca; 3) pendapat siswa terhadap penggunaan metode Index Card Match dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca teks bahasa Perancis siswa. Sampel dari penelitian ini adalah 20 orang siswa SMA Telkom Bandung TahunAjaran 2016/2017. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pre-experimental dengan desain penelitian one group pretest-posttest. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu dengan tes dan angket. Hasil analisis data tes menunjukkan adanya peningkatan nilai keterampilan membaca siswa yaitu dari 7,98 nilai rata-rata pretest menjadi 8,73 nilai posttest. Selain itu, hasil angket mengidentifikasikan bahwa metode Index Card Match membantu dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca siswa. Merujuk pada hasil penelitian, metode Index Card Matchini efektif diterapkan dalam pembelajaran membaca teks bahasa Perancis siswa di SMA.;---Reading is a kind of language skill. This study discusses about the implementation of Index Card Matchmethod to improve students reading skill a text in French. The aims of this research are to obtain data on: 1) the levels of reading ability of the student before and after the application of Index Card Matchmethod; 2) the effectiveness of Index Card Match method for improving students reading skill a text in French; 3) students opinion of the application of Index Card Matchmethod to improve students reading skill a text in French. The samples of this study are 20 students of SMA Telkom Bandung of school year 2016/2017. The method is pre-experimental with a research design of one group pretest-posttest. The techniques of collecting data are test and questionnaires. The results of data analysis from tests show that there is an increase result, from pretest average 7,89 to 8,73 posttest value. In addition, the increase value is also supported by the questionnaire show that index card method helps in improving reading skill. The result of this study show that Index Card Matchmethod is effective to be applied in learning a French text reading.
